AFKing in STRIKES
Unlocked my quest for the New Monarchy Exotic class item on my Warlock yesterday. Ran my 10 strikes in Heroic and I noticed something. Almost every strike had someone AFK and grab rewards at the end. Some guys were trying to be clever and would scoot forward, shoot, then hide once we engaged the enemy. Heroic strikes aren't ball-busting, but running them with only 2 as opposed to a full team can be painful.
The worst strike I had by far had a guardian named (had to remove name but will post vid tomorrow). If you see him in strikes, just leave. If you see him in crucible, own him. This piece of siht did nothing but tuck himself into corners and shoot only when we were looking. He was completely absent and hiding in a nook in the wall at the boss. Then when the boss died, guess what dropped?

I had as many assists as he had kills.(29, I had 139 kills at the end) And he gets the one gun I still haven't managed to get. Bungie, you need to do something to stop people from cruising through strike playlists and reaping the rewards because this is stupid. And it's like this a for almost every strike I join.

I was in a fire team and someone had been afk for nearly the whole strike. I kicked him and said "playing the game really helps", oh the hate.

I had a guy go AFK on undying mind, hid in the back through the strike when we got to the boss fight he left his sticks completely and I just used him the whole boss fight by pushing him out in the open and using him as a shield and distraction.... he kept pulling agro and dying and I would just keep reviving him and getting OS and putting shots on boss.... it was awesome. He of course started moving when boss was dead to get his reward.... just reported and moved on... strikes are easy enough to solo but it does go a lot quicker with a good team that actually plays as intended. I usually don't go in alone but when I do I expect to carry, and sometimes run into some solid randoms and just stay with them for 3-4 strikes..... To those guardians I salute you, to the AFK's you will be used and you will not have fun... sucks to be you.

3 RepliesSolutions to deal with AFKers in strikes: [b]1.[/b] Sparrow ram them into walls or out of bound areas. (previously posted by other users earlier in this thread) [b]2.[/b] Push them to the enemies as far as you can. Once the AFKer 's ghost appears after death, do NOT revive that player until the next "checkpoint". (tbagging is not necessary, unless you want extra giggle/laugh points) [b]3. [/b] Harass the AFKer by shooting them. Rockets, snipers, or any other gun that makes the loudest sounds can get their attention faster. [b]4.[/b] Have a buddy with you and do creative things on the AFKer. Assess the AFKer with you and your buddy's choices. ;) Ugh... Still have bad memories of seeing an AFKer get an EXOTIC weapon as a reward back on year 1...

You see, it's shit like that, which makes me AGAINST idiots who demand Trials, Nightfall and Raids have matchmaking! I am one of those guys who will make it far, but then wipe and use the enemies to kill the AFK [b][u]F Uckhead[/u][/b] I don't care if your having supper, putting your kid to sleep, or you had to take a diarrhea shit, you ain't getting no free rewards with me. I will wipe and watch you die and keep picking you up and watch them kill you until you leave. Then I will report you for hours and make sure my friends and previous players report you also. I absolute hate people who pretend they are away. You do not join a strike with me and expect to get free rewards!!

I dont care how much you tell me RNG, the person with the least amount of kills almost ALWAYS seems to get the reward..... there is no way it just plays out this way almost every time....there has to be something to it

I was playing patrol on Venus when I happen to see three people come for a strike...I'm assuming the Nexus. Two of them went one stayed. Whilst shooting vex enemies and Fallen I noticed one of them come back. Dude still standing there. Other guy starts throwing grenades and I joined the fun. Guy throwing grenades sent a message by then the first player returned. Obvious fire team with a blueberry. They both share a dance with me and wave and take off. Blueberry comes back thinking I'm on his match knifes me and runs. I sent him a message saying your other players took off on you because u didn't play. In not on your strike. Didn't get a response but I just laughed and went about my patrol.

I bail pretty quick if someone pulls that. I like to run quick strikes and not here to let someone get ANYTHING while I and another guardian do the strike.

Had this happen at the start of the shank strike so me and another random took turns pushing him off the cliff with our sparrows then reviving him for about 10 min by the time he got back he'd died at least 30 times. It was funny as f&%k just wish I'd recorded it now. Oh then we both left.

If I notice 2 players inactive, I will make my way to the darkness zone and then kill myself. That kills the whole team and brings them to the darkness zone checkpoint where you were. Then I melee them a bit so that they get the point. It usually works.

I had an afk guy with me in a nightfall. This person spun in circles to prevent any inactivity so I kicked him/her.

Destiny needs to have some kind of afk detection. And people who get reported for doing this a lot should definitely be facing some ban. That's just the lowest behavior to get rewards without doing any work

I reckon if 2 of the 3 people report a person for being AFK, that person has 30 seconds to kill an add before being booted

I have seen a lot more of this recently as well. My only advice is to try and get them to join your fireteam so you can kick them. If that doesn't work. Report him through the game every chance you get (if you die etc) and at the end of the strike report him to Xbox/ psn. After that block him so you don't get match made with him again.
