Snipers, do they need changes?

Multiple nerfs have been implemented for shottys and fusions but snipers have remained largely unchanged. I'm not a great sniper for PVP so I do have some bias here but I've found many other people have to moved to snipers as the other specials just arent as competitive anymore. I'm sure that sniper fans will disagree with my thoughts but I have two major problems with snipers and its not aim assist, quick scoping, no scoping or one shot kills. The first is the fact that when I'm shooting someone with high caliber rounds they still seem to be able to head shot me without much difficulty, this seems like nonsense and that it shouldnt be a thing. To counter this I suggest that either the scope rock when shot should significantly increase and also move you away from where you were aiming or more simply if you get shot it knocks you out of scope completly just like in Halo. Secondly if you headshot me and I die thats a good shot and I deserved it but what I find is I very often get body shotted and then finished with a primary to the body. This doesnt seem like a way a sniper should work and the only way I can think to counter this is either to lower the amount of damage body shots do (I dont really like that idea though) or just make the times to ready or put away a sniper much longer than it currently is. They should also get rid of the red light when a sniper is scoped at you to try and balance these suggested changes so you can "hide" better as a sniper would do. I'd love to hear snipers and none snipers thoughts on these suggestions.

  • Snipers are fine, I understand that it's frustrating to get shut down whenever your hitting someone but it depends on the player not the weapon. I feel like you're not considering the other things that happen, for example if I'm in sniping range I'm already at the advantage regardless of if I miss, hit a body shot, or wait for you to peek, the sniper is supposed to be the best long ranged option so the further you are the easier it is to compensate. Those micro adjustments when you're getting hit and trying to predict the opponents next move are 50/50 and each time you miss while under fire you lower your chances of comming out on top. Also 2-3 shots to the body to kill is perfectly fine because then it makes synergy with your primary. If I would have to list ways to bring sniper rifles down a notch it would the following 1. Slowing down movement speed with it drawn out. 2. Adding a sway so that hardscoping doorways can be more difficult. Also making the sway of a sniper scope a stat. 3. Slightly reducing aim assist across all snipers. 4. Inverting the aim assistance that different scopes give you. (Shortgaze should give you an aim assist penalty and a bit more sway, especially with the size of most of the maps, the higher zoom scopes should have the aim assist boost.) And last but not least a slight(I mean very slight) delay of the centering of your scope during follow up shots. Thats all I can think of off the top of my head.
