Nor as effectively if it were burst or single fire. This is my point. And you would just never even suggest that if you had ever fired a 7.62mm round out of an ak47

I know it's a high power gun and it can deal some major damage, even outside of recommended ranges. Of course they're not ideal against things like single shot, long range weapons but they'll still do something. And no. I haven't fired a gun of any kind.

Of course, they'll still do something, in the same way that rain makes things wet. But when youre trying to kill someone before they kill you, the single/burst fire is going to hit at range a hell of a lot faster than any auto. A 9mm will kill at over 500yards, but youre not killing anything with a full auto glock at that range. You use a carbine. Its just not feasible to expect an auto to deal the full amount of damage that you put in the air. Thats why the damag drop off at a distance. It may look like youre aiming at them, but that doesnt mean youre hitting them

Apparently you're supposed to aim a little above the target. But yeah. A carbine would definitely kill something from a decent range and assault rifles probably could but never anything smaller than an Uzi. It just won't hit hard enough.
