Usually a strong parallel is drawn to the Real Universe, and the society within it. Speaking freely, the anthropomorphic beings usually seen in Furry Culture would be an upgrade to our species, though there would be downsides too. In areas such as Alaska, where temperatures can go down past -45 in tbe winter, even a small layer of fur would increase surrivability. In the case of canine species, a huge upgrade would be made to the hearing and smelling senses. As this is fantasy,virtually no downgrade is given to the feelings of touch, sight or taste even with a result of canine features. [spoiler]I could go on but meh[/spoiler]
