....just turn around and take a look at that view.
This is something I feel is dying in games, and lately, it seems gamers don't care about actual artwork in games.
I care Bungie! It's a beautiful masterpiece of destruction. Tell your art team great job!
-
Sometimes I pay too much attention to the scenery and other graphics! Sure 99% of it is beautiful but I'm also the one finding a bunch of one-sided textures and wonky collision. xD Bungie I love ya
-
OP faps to Destiny scenery. Confirmed
-
Nah I don't wanna be reminded of 'YOU CAN GO THERE RIGHT NOw ThO??????' I dabble a bit on Mars tho
-
Watch out for that weapon.
Survives
-
Yea, that view is pretty cool. Also, when IB comes back, check out the mountain in the area. Looks nice, too!
-
I like the diversity of the worlds. The road warrior feal of earth. The barren Mars. The luscious Venus. The dim lighting on the moon. Thanks for the reminder! :)

Ya I was doing the dark blade strike and look to the right and left when ur on the bridge just before you drop into the pit it looks so bad ass imo

Edited by Enrique Shockwave: 1/7/2016 11:55:49 PMOfficial Non-Official Destiny Review: Gameplay: 6 / 10 Story: 5 / 10 (2 out of 10 if the lore/grimoire is excluded) Raid Mechanics: 4 / 10 Community: (-10) / 10 Artwork: 11/ 10 Edit: Music 11/10 (Always adds to the immersion and helps keep us behind the 4th wall. Bungie, my hats off to you.) As an aspiring game artist I will say that the game is -blam!-ing beautiful. I remember the first time looking at all my gear on my 47" HD screen and I was awestruck. The detail on the fabrics and textures and just everything was amazing. The world and the artwork that makes up Destiny makes the game very immersive if you let yourself fall behind the 4th wall. The other day I had my Turtlebeach headset on and I was on Venus by the endless steps and there's this waterfall all the way out in the background that you would hear get louder the closer you got to it. It's small details like this that I really appreciate in games nowadays when everything is so focused on boom explosion action constant stimulation shit. But as a a person aspiring to work in the gaming industry, the rest of the game makes me sad a lot of the times and I wouldn't play it anymore if I didn't play with the friends that I do.

I just go to the dreadnought to see hive and cabal fight. I always cheer for the cabal

When I first went to the tower ever (back in January 2015...?) I sat and looked at all of the city, the tower, and then completed some stuff. Then came back and saw the city at night. It was stunning. Unfortunately my days in the tower have been reduced to: 310 Nothing Manacles or Imma cry. Gunsmith has shit for gun orders this week. Where's Xûr? Ooh I leveled up a faction... Crap! Got shitty auto rifle. Do i have enough legendary marks? Why doesn't anyone say "wizard" anymore? Lol reference Wait... I can't buy trials passages at the tower!
-
The first time I played through the story and got to the Black Garden, I remember I got to the top of the one staircase and got my first overlook of the garden itself and I just sat down and took it all in for a while. Absolutely love it when a game has views that are enough to actually make me stop playing and look around at the environment.

Edited by ImDaBeInEr: 1/8/2016 3:20:09 AMWhy can't the art team design the game
-
Edited by Sharkyz: 1/7/2016 11:15:39 PMI remember the first time flying into Venus, looking out and being in utter awe at how beautiful they made the planet look. Amazing...
-
I agree - the locations in Destiny are beautiful! Sometimes I just stand around and admire. The art team has been doing an incredible job.
-
Well quite a few games do have good artwork, but we always overlook it. Destiny is good, but other good artwork would be the later Naughty Dog games, The snow in UC2 I thought the art in the first Assassins Creed game was good as well. Also playing Farcry 4 and that is pretty good, but it is annoying so back to Destiny fir the weekend
-
Better games have said same beauty but you can also explore them in other games. Nothing special here. Duuuurr
-
And when you spawn into patrol on the moon, turn around and watch some shooting stars
-
...and then you zoom in with a sniper to realize it's really mushy and watered out... Don't get me wrong, I love looking at the landscape, but damn it can get ugly if you zoom in.
-
Same OP, then I remember "See all that? You can explore it." And quit again.
-
I tottaly dig on the area back by the gate lord on Venus...just look up
-
I was just in the sun less cell strike, and the bridge with all the adds are at, I just looked around and I was like this is pretty amazing. A lot of people don't take the time to just sit there and enjoy the hard work and beauty put into this game
-
i know i love looking at Saturn during the oryx fight (well before) or even going to the place when your resurrected by your ghost for the first time (wonder what that city holds ) and even in other games like star wars battlefront its graphics are so goddamn good i havent seen graphics like that ever i mean endor looks so realistic
-
Sometimes I go in patrol and look at the landscape or the sky .
-
I am a 33 year old man with a wife and 4 kids (all girls)! When they are all in bed its the only peaceful time i get... Its sad i know but i actually quite like looking at the sky whilst on the moon...
-
How about the first time you saw the Black Garden?
-
A few things here. Yes it is beautiful, but after seeing yourself generally spawn in the same area constantly seeing the same view it quickly becomes dull. I personally believe the dreadnaught should have secret areas seeing as how there's a big ass ship with prisons an everything else. Yet you patrol the same spot (like the planets which really makes no sense.....) and the game leaves you with no wonder. While the art and concept is beautiful it isn't something I admire anymore. Games should give you a sense of wonder, especially a game like Destiny. Yet the game leaves with so many unanswered questions it's pathetic. Even the lore from the grimiore starts to make no sense.
