Anumi sits in the lounge, dozing off on the couch. She's exhausted. Her hair has turned a light purple complexion and her eyes a deep purple themselves. She blinks them, almost aware of their change in hue. Maybe it was just all the insanity of the week. She rolls over and watches a nearby fish tank. Something was bothering her. It was Sawyer, Lucien, and everyone... But someone in particular was on her mind. Lance. She couldn't forget his eyes, his words, and his strange ability to appear anywhere. Was he a ghost? She had to know... Her words were silent and almost a secretive whisper.
"Lance...? You there...?"

-
Her skin crawls in anticipation and she sits up. She blinks in the darkness, trying to recognize something more than his eyes. Unsure of what she really meant to say to him, she starts with a bleak topic, one that is extremely off-putting. "Are... You real?"
-
He steps out of the shadows, the same lock of hair in his face, and his ever-present three katanas at his hip. He wears a black t-shirt and black jeans. He walks towards her with grace and elegance, yet purpose. Like every movement is maximizing efficiency. He practically radiated power. If Death could be elegant, he was the living incarnate. "Last time I checked. Would you like me to pinch you, just to make sure?" He says with a smile.
-
She quickly shakes her head, almost cringing at the thought. She folds her hands delicately in her lap. "You're... Really different. N-not in a b-bad way I mean... Just special I guess. You remind me of an old friend... What made you take an interest in us?"
-
He chuckles, sitting down in front of the couch at her feet, putting his elbows on his knees. "I'm a curious person. And you guys struck my interest."
-
"But... Why us? You don't strike me as the kind of person to just take interest in people... And I can't imagine Lucien being very interesting... Besides being a ticking time bomb... And I know you visit him too... He talks to himself all the time... It's just... Do you have a motive?" She tilts her head in a curious manner, almost like and animal would in expectance.
-
"Yes, I do have a motive." He says with a half smile, his icy blue eyes that same cold tone, like they chill the air around him.
-
It sends a shiver down her spine. Wishing to change the subject, she pipes up, this time in a more eased tone. "What are your thoughts on friends?" Anumi was tired, and a tiny bit mentally insecure. At this point, she didn't care what nonsense questions spewed from her mouth.

Edited by Will: 12/30/2015 5:55:33 AM Something crosses his eyes at the mention of friends. Disappointment? Sadness? "I think that they're important people to have in your life, and that no one should be alone."
Hope I'm pulling off the badass/nice guy/mysterious guy well lmfao.
-
Edited by Chesh I Guess: 12/30/2015 5:59:11 AMAnumi nods in agreement. Something about Lance made her feel safe. Another part made her feel nervous. She tries to shake the thought away. "Have anyone you truly care about? In any way...?"
Damn spot on.
-
Edited by Will: 12/30/2015 6:04:46 AM
Yay.
He smiles. "I have two kids. A son and a daughter." Now this statement was a bit off-putting because he didn't seem to be older than 20-23. There was still the same broken look behind his eyes, but it was gone just as quickly as it appeared. "And some friends, that I care about dearly." His eyes flick towards his katanas at that statement.
-
Not wishing to press and dig up something painful she takes initiative and changes the subject once more. It was very strange. She had never felt so uncomfortable and awkward yet felt confident of confide anything with a single person. This feeling began to nag on her psyche. "I used to have a friend as close as family... He was a swordsman too. Though, he wasn't one for fighting... And he talked... Like a miserably written science textbook. But he was..." Then it clicked. The same quiet attitude, same sarcasm, the same generosity to listen, the same ability to seemingly appear anywhere, the quiet and direct footsteps, the piercing glowing eyes. When she looked at Lance she saw him... Damien. Her greatest friend. If only Lance had the same massive, inhuman grin that Damien always seemed to wear, as if a mask, yet not quite so. Her words trail off as she is absorbed by the blaze of thought.
-
His eyes gaze into her, and he sees the same look in her eyes that was so familiar to him. How could he not recognize it? It stared back into him every time he looked into a mirror. "I'm sorry about your friend." He says in a quiet tone.
-
She blinks it away, bowing her head to avoid eye contact. This wasn't good for her. Her voice turns to a quiet mumble. She clenches her fists. "Me too..." She couldn't face him, not if it brought everything flooding back. She didn't know what else to say. But what if this was the only way to remember him? The only way to see him once more? She wishes she could speak, pour out her whole story... But she didn't want to remember either. The conflicting emotions turn her skin a strange hue of pink.
-
He taps her on her knee, simple and lightly. "Hey..your skins pink." He says with a chuckle.
-
She jerks back to life, her normal complexion seeping back through her skin. "No it's not..." Her eyes are jittery. She isn't very good at hiding something.
-
"I have eyes hon." He says in a simple tone. Not accusing, just, a statement.
-
"Just... An old blush I picked up long ago." She gives a small nod as if coming to a conclusion about her own statement.
-
He chuckles at the statement. "Tell you what, I'll make you a deal."
-
She lifts her head and darts her eyes away from his gaze. "What is it...? The deal..."
-
"If you tell me why your skin changes colors, I'll tell you something about myself." He says with a smile. He hopes she takes the offer, knowing he's been sparing with info about himself and hoping she's as curious as she seems.
-
Anumi, can't help but let the words out. She doesn't have the strength to take them back. She crossed a one way street. Damn. "Alright..." It was like this with Damien. She couldn't help herself around him. She didn't ever think first. "But this doesn't change... Our thoughts on each other?"
-
"Of course not." He says with a warming smile. "Although I don't know your thoughts about me." He says with a chuckle.
-
She takes off her hat and slowly unbuttons her shirt and skirt. Her skin turns a hue of purple. Her eyes burn a brilliant shade of purple, like luminous coral. A blue and red chitin grows over her like a shell, covering her body so she isn't naked. She looks like a giant piece of plaster costume. Her skin is fairly smooth but there are scars from apparent burns and cuts covering her from neck to toe. It's hard to see her face as a large portion of chitin has formed around her eyes and upper head leaving strands of brilliantly colored hair swaying. Anumi gives a bleak smile. "It's like Shrek... Except no happy ending."
-
"You're not human." He says, completely deadpan, no deciding factor of anything in his tone as his eyes scan her body.
