The Traveler gave it's dying breath to create the Ghosts to seek out those who could use the Light as a weapon. It needed those who could fight back in the beginnings of the Collapse. Hunters would do little more than barely hold off the enemy and Warlocks would ponder the Lights existence long before extinguishing the Darkness. No, the Traveler needed those who could defend the dying and break those who dared to kill, build up walls and tear down enemy strongholds, create a place of safety or a place of rampad destruction. The Traveler needed Titans.
Strikers:
The man woke up to see a floating Light hover infront of it.
It spoke. "My son... You are the very first. You are the eldest. You will lead the campaign to protect your people and save the Light from dying. You..."
The man held his hand up and stood up. "Enough talk, where is the enemy of my Father?"
The very first Guardian and the users of Arc, the very embodiment of nature. Being the first, these Guardians had the simplest job, kill, and they did their job well. These brave men and women paved the way for future Guardians to rise up and stand in their fight and provide a safe haven for the inhabitants of humanity. Without Strikers, no other Guardian could exist.
With this long history of fighting and being the forefathers/mothers of Guardians, Strikers tend to act rather pompous and feel high above the others in terms of superiority, which might lead to nasty attitude towards "weaker" Guardians. Never the less, Strikers are brave, usually the first to enter a battle and crush the front lines beneath their fists. They are resourceful, doing everything in their power to keep the enemy at bay. They are also very persuasive, seeing a flying Titan hurtling towards you would make even the most seasoned Veteran cringe in fear.
The Arc, as nature herself, does not come in a trickle, it comes as a thunder strike, either it strikes or it doesn't. This is the Titan's greatest advantage as well as their biggest weakness. While these forces of nature's wrath are excellent at giving their all on the combat field, they tend to do poorly in times of peace. Keeping a Striker cooped up for too long can result in disaster as they store Arc energy within their body for later use. Without releasing this energy, it can lead to aggressive behavior and rampages, though once this energy is released Strikers can be gentle giants.
Sunbreakers:
He was filled with rage as he raced his ship towards Mercury. "This is utter madness! They can't exile me! I'll show them I was better than all of them!" He guided the ship downwards into the atmosphere and teleported out. He stomped around the silent ruins of the Vex stronghold. He gazed at the sun as it burned in the sky. "I will show them all."
He took his spare pieces of armor, gear from the Vanguard that he would never use, and threw them into a smoldering fireplace like slot in a wall. He glared angrily at it then paused. He sighed and held his head. He felt lost, unknowing what to do. Then he turned to look at the armor that he had thrown away. It had somehow melted and a bright flame burned within the fire place.
He felt compelled to touch it. He crept over and trusted his hand into the metal. It burned but he let his rage burn more than the metal. He slowly drew it out and a handle followed along with a hammer head. It burned bright like a thousand suns as he held it up. He slowly turned the hammer and looked behind him back at the sun.
He let himself cascade in flames of fury. "I will break their Light, I will break their Darkness, I. Will. Break. All. And reforge it to my image."
Very little is know about the history of the Sunbreakers as they had been out of contact with the Tower for many years, acting as mercenaries. They sold their hammers to the highest bidder and crushed the side that couldn't pay. Previous deals were struck to get the Breakers on the side of the Light, such the one with Osiris around the Battle of Twilight Gap. These attepts were thwarted howere as Zavala tried to stop this deal, believing the Sunbreakers to simply be thugs and brutes, and they had been in fallout ever since, until recently. Those who were Sunbreakers before rejoining with the Tower were very harsh towards those who were not and dead set in their traditional ways. But newer Titans have been able to learn the craft thanks to recent diplomatic events from the Tower.
The Breakers are fueled by the Solar rage, their hammers an extension of their hatred. They are hot tempered, prone to violence and prefer the solitude of battle or themselves rather than a fireteam. But unlike their cousins the Strikers, Sunbreakers do not simply throw themselves at the enemy, they burn them from afar, letting agony rain down from above, only going close to deal additional damage or if needed be. They have a passion for destruction and unlike their Solar counterparts, the Gunslingers and Sunsingers, they can reforge their environment to their liking and completely destroy everything in their path, so exercise caution when dealing with Breakers or they may break you.
Defenders:
The attack raged on. People ran for their lives as the Darkness spread it's vicious fangs towards their enemies. A little girl runs crying from the Darkness, but she trips and falls, scraping her knee and injuring her arm. She looks up in fear at the Darkness. It bares it's teeth and tried to strike.
She closes her eyes tightly and waits. But nothing happens. She slowly opens her eyes to be in a purple dome, the entire world outside cascaded in the Darkness.
"Don't be afraid." Said a man standing next to her. He wore the aemor if the Guardians and his voice was soothing and quiet. "You are safe here."
The girl shook in fear. "Will I be ok?..."
The man gently sits down and holds the girl close to him in a hug. "The Darkness will not break me. You are safe as long as I draw breath."
The Void is a strange force. Unlike the Arc and Solar, this one can be manipulated into different shapes and sizes. Another interesting property of the Void is that when things are destroyed by it, they become a part of it, melting into the pool of Darkened Light. Voidwalkers use its properties to become one with it and siphon it's power for destruction and give them strength. Nightstalkers cloak themselves in its veil and use it to anchor others in their place for easy killing later. Defenders however have found a unique tap into the Void, they call it's power to take the damage and shield those who cannot protect themselves.
By this nature, Defenders are kinder and more docile than their cousins the Sunbreakers and tend to stay back from the front line and act as a place of refuge unlike their bretheren Strikers. While they are a force to be feared, they are also the ones to comfort and protect. Defenders have been described numerous times as a fatherly figure, kind and gentle to his own children but violent and unforgiving to those who dare harm them. While Defenders are seemingly harmless compared to other Titans, they could easily become more terrifying if they so choose.
The Void can bend and warp to the users will and it is very dangerous as seen by the ways of the Voidwalkers. While the Defenders have been able to calm it's destruction in the form of the Ward, other things cannot be changed such as the killing melee blows that disintegrate targets back into the Void and Void explosives are extremely volatile, ranging from exploding twice over to constantly spewing Void energy. As it can be manipulated, the Void can easily change shape. If the Defenders so chose it to change, they could potentially create weapons from the Void and cause destruction and havoc. But they chose not to, they are the healers and the protectors, they focus on their allies not their enemies. But if they chose to go offensively... Defenders could easily outclass any one that stands in their way.

I love you. That defender story was godly.
