Never played trials and never will. The whole concept of it never appealed to me. Lack of matchmaking especially.

  • I only played for the armor (I like the look of it), but PvP is so messed up that I typically avoid it when I can. Is it weird that the most unbalanced mode (mayhem) is the only one I find entertaining anymore? Trials is over the top with laggers and cheaters (lag-switchers) as with iron banner and occasionally regular crucible. One thing I think is sad is that I never once thought anything (neither weapons nor subclass) was too strong in crucible, but all those whiners have gotten everything ruined and it heavily affected PvE play too. My favorite gun type is the hand cannon, yet I can't ever use it in PvE due to how little it ammo it now comes with.

  • Because mayhem doesn't even try to be balanced. It's a 100% honest. So what if the GG guy killed you? Get out the Gjallahorn and blow his ass to mars. At least I would describe it like it that.

  • I think it proves that unbalanced PvP is more enjoyable. (I.e. that person just golden gunned me, prepare for the hammer! Uh oh! Nova bomb! ) PvP is about kill or be killed. It is about how equally you were killed by different weapons. The solution is simple as stated by Variks: "they will try to kill you, kill them back, guardian!"

It's more recreational. It's too uncompetitive for me, if played for an extended period of time.

  • When rewards often give the worst player the best stuff due to "RNG rewards", all of crucible loses its competitiveness to me. There is almost no incentive to win in majority of destiny's PvP since you are just as likely to get rewarded for last place as you would if you were first.

It's not purely about winning for me, as I never play with a fireteam, and the matchmaking pairs me with teammates which are far worse, expecting me to carry them. I regularly have matches with a >2 KD and topping the leaderboard , while the 3rd place of my team already has a 0.7 KD. I have around 70 "on the bright side medals". It's more about performing in the best possible way, to the best of my ability. And with supers/heavy being around constantly, I cannot enjoy this game in terms of gunplay, as there simply isn't any meaningful amount of it in mayhem.

  • I enjoy mayhem with my chaperone in between my fist of havoc slams. It is a good laugh and entertains me. At the end of the day, you play games for entertainment. When it is no longer entertainment, what is the point of playing it? That is my take on crucible anyways.
