I love MIDA. Loved it since I saw my bestie using it in the Cosmodrome. (Fell in love with how it sounds, too, and I use it so much that the *normal* Scout Rifles sound odd to me.) I know for a fact that I frustrated a multitude of TLW-, Thorn-, and sniper-users in Crucible, simply because of MIDA's stability. I could nail down headshots like no other! (Or so it seemed to me.) MIDA is one of - if not the - most balanced weapons in the game. I honestly hate that it's become so common since it came forward. Partially because I just love being a special snowflake, but mostly because I rely so heavily on it. (Which is also a piss-poor excuse, but this is one instance where I've tried very hard to adapt to other things and have been unable to do so. I found MIDA back in Year 1 and wondered how I ever lived without it; it's a wonderful weapon.)

  • MIDAs nerf is inevitable, the gun is overpowered. It's overpowered because everything else has been ruined slowly over time.

Yea? This is the way I felt about hopscotch pilgrim. Then it's entire archetype got changed from high impact to nirwens impact. Bungie always nerfs your favorite weapon.

  • And that's exactly why I'm so sick of all the changes. I may not be a big pulse rifle fan, but I have friends who are. For your sake and theirs, I really want Bungie to stop with the constant "balancing" of weapons. If they had a baseline to follow, they could simply make minor tweaks rather than changing whole weapon archetypes. Just to give an example of a very basic framework to use: Pulse rifles get burst-fire, but do less damage per bullet. Scout rifles have higher impact, but fire slower. Auto rifles are, of course, full auto, but stability isn't as great. If Bungie would just stick to a consistent formula, they could build weapons around it. Then the Exotics would truly feel Exotic, and people could use what benefits their play style rather than being forced to find a whole new loadout every three to four months.
