Yeah, cutting out half of the game's competitive side of PvP will bring balance for sure right?

  • Won't make balance worse :)

  • In a way it would. It would have less focus. People use OP things in Trials and it brings attention to what needs change. Your solution to the problem is avoiding the problem rather than solve it. It's not a solution at all.

  • You overstate the importance of Trials. It's literally the only PvP mode in which Sunsingers are actually useful. Only mode in which it's a better choice for the neutral game to run a high impact sniper (on a theoretical basis, a high RoF/low impact sniper rifle is better, when revive sniping stops to be an issue). Only mode that is round based without respawns, etc etc. The tactical differences between that and objective based 6vs6 modes (what most people Play) , are too big to balance in favour of the 10% who play trials, or to overvalue the data trials provides.

  • Please, you're making this argument too easy. By explaining everything that makes the Trials of Osiris unique, you are stating the impact it had on PvP and the importance. You're contradicting your opening statement.

Huh? You must have delusions. I'm saying that Trials is basically irrelevant for the rest of the game. It's a completely different thing, and if Bungie actually balances towards the 10% who play Trials, instead of the 90% who play 6vs6 modes, then this is a huge failure and issue. What I am saying is that Bungie didn't balance in favour of Trials players, or overstated their feedback. If anything, I am telling you why Bungie definitely does not overvalue Trials data and why nerfs are not happening based on Trials feedback, but much rather based on the other 90% of the Crucible players. Trials de facto had no meaningful impact on the 6vs6 meta. Thorn, Hawkmoon and TLW are the easiest examples to illustrate that. Those weapons got used through TDB, long before Trials was ever a thing. Those players brought the exotic HCs into Trials, not the other way around. Felsniper's with shot package falls into the exact same category.

The problem isn't the people use OP things or that Trials exists. It's that Bungie cannot separate PvP nerfs from PvE nerfs, and cannot balance weapons for their damn lives.
