When I used to play Destiny, I felt it was more Iron Banner that dictated what balance issues needed to be addressed. Trials just exacerbated the more severe issues (i.e. Thorn, Final Round Efrideet's, The Ram, etc.) because in that game mode, a cheap kill is still a kill. More on topic: Iron Banner for Y1 and the one IB I played from Y2 always displayed the strongest weapons. Not just in damage values, but also what was best in the meta. It used to be hand cannons (specifically the exotic ones), this year it's been pulse rifles. tl;dr Iron Banner is a perfect showcase of what are the strongest weapons and that's where most of the complaining starts. Trials only makes these complaints worse as each death is more costly than a death in Control/Clash.

 • Iron Banner is the perfect showcase that nothing is OP. At the end of HoW when Thorn was supposedly unstoppable, I almost never lost a fight to it in IB. I used NA3D1 Salvation State and Hygiea Noblesse and was over 3.0 for the week the final IB I ran before TTK.

 • I agree. Thorn was never unbeatable. I fancied the Jewel of Osiris for Iron Banner and found great success with it. But in this community, if you die to a weapon over and over again, it MUST be OP! And then everyone else starts using it because they think it's broken... And you know how it goes from there. In actuality, it's not broken, just a very popular gun because of the belief it's broken. And my original point only meant that in Iron Banner, that's where you see the masses flock to those weapons they believe are inherently more advantaged than the other selections. :)
