I almost always have the game muted when I'm playing crucible, just so I don't have to listen to Lord obvious

The irony is that this isnt true. In regular control, you can still get points for blowing enemies away. Only in the "serious version" of control (forgot what its called) do you NEED to control zones exclusively.
