You a coder?
No?
Piss off...
Balancing a weapon vs slapping a "no access unless X is satisfied" requirement is night and day...
Bitching for the sake of bitching....grow the fuck up and try to pull your head out of your ass. Shit you know nothing about rarely ever is as simple as you assume it could be

Yeah, but the code plz. Please write down Thorn's C/C++ based implement and point out the weapon damage values and any other dependent functions. Please? We need to know it's all stacked up and how easy it is to change, Bungie need to see how it's done. You're our only hope bruv.

When one develops a game like Destiny, Diablo, RTS games... anything that will require the ability to change stat values rapidly during iterations you put those stats into an XML or CSV document. Storing the values in the actual source code is idiotic and since Bungie has vast experience with competitive FPS games they know to develop them in this fashion.

Hey! ^ This -blam!-ing guy knows the gist of it. I want Kobra to show me though, he knows more. You know, in the spirit of taking priority of weapon tuning over thousands of people getting screwed over real money by others who exploited it for free.

Look kid, you got "schooled" so just go back to your mum's basement and shut up.
-
Lol, i wasn't disagreeing with you. I'm sorry, want me to say that you don't know what you're talking about instead? Why would i go to my mum's basement when your mum's bed is comfier?

I am a coder.

And I am friends with the Easter bunny... I should go check on my pet unicorn now.
-
Hahaha. Is it really that hard to believe that I am a coder? I know C, C++, Java, Scala, C#, JavaScript, html, XML, SQL, Prolog, and a few more. Want some sample code? I wrote a program to test the theory that LitC actually pops 40% of the time on 4 round mags if reloaded after every lucky shot.
I wrote a program to test the theory that LitC actually pops 40% of the time on 4 round mags if reloaded after every lucky shot.
Weird. I've been hearing that LitC has a 40% chance to activate if you reload after one of your luck shots. Interesting. :)

Yeah, I had dinner with the tooth fairy today, she's a pretty nice lady. I'll invite you next time.

Edited by Dandroid126: 12/10/2015 7:30:55 AMSorry. Too busy going to college for software engineering, where I'll be starting at a company making $80k a year next year. Starting at $80k a year right out of college. Let that sink in. Starting at $80k. Here's some code I made in like 10 minutes to prove the LitC thing.

Edited by Chit Chat: 12/10/2015 12:32:56 PMNice. Always wanted to learn code, but I'd always get stuck on some concept like classes or something lol. Then I'd understand it like 3 years later. I'm more of an entertainer anyways and started a YouTube channel. It's my place in this world I know that now lol.
-
Alright big shot, I hope that "80k a year" salary gives you comfort and hope in your life. If you're to a point where you brag about your supposed salary, then you need help.
-
Well you provoked him you know.
-
Sounds like someone is jealous and doesnt like to be wrong when being called out on the forums. Lol let it go kid you lost this arguement.
-
This is why we are having issues with colleges to work place transitions. Entitled snowflakes enter the real world believing the stats waved in their face. "You'll make X amount when you leave". Problem is the economy changes, or your field gets flooded, and let's face it, there is more than one person spoon feed the same lies. So good luck getting this magic job, and oh BTW the McDonald's burger flipper wants the same salary.
-
That, my friend is called a red herring. You realized you were wrong and knew nothing, so you changed the entire topic of the conversation. And you would have gotten away with it if it weren't for all those meddling logic classes that us coders have to take! Honestly though, most people think of coding as this impossible thing that only geniuses can do, which is just not true. Its really quite easy. That's why coders get paid so much, though. People think it's so hard that they don't try to learn. And when the demand for coders is so high, while the supply remains low due to people being afraid of it, it creates a very inflated starting salary.
-
I think it's more of a "lost in translation" issue which chases people away from coding. I mean people hear "algorithm" and freak out when it's just a fancy word for recipe lol.
-
Long division is just an algorithm!
