Heres what I don't understand.
So people are getting pissed off because of destiny microtransactions. And the items aren't game changing, they don't provide anything but customization. Why? Explain your reasons why you don't like to spend money on a dance animation or a cool looking sparrow?

I dont mind them either BUT..im an oldschool gamer and i really, really miss the days of being able to EVENTUALLY get items just by playing the game. Like..say i want the clap emote but dont care to spend anymore cash, give me an alternative way of getting it. Pay 5 bucks for silver or beat Oryx 25 times.. Something like that.

Keep paying for crap and they will keep giving us crap. There is no reason for them to give us new dlc with you guys putting money in their pockets

It's not so much what micro transactions are out right now, it's the fact that adding micro transactions gives them a stepping stone to in the future make it pay to win or something of the ilk. Right now it's fine, but you ever hear the phrase "when you give a mouse a cookie" ?

I've never cared about cosmetic items. So I don't bother spending money to get them. I'm also not pissed off about them. I think the idea of MT's is fine. If people out there want to buy cosmetic items, go ahead. As you say, it doesn't break the game, its not Pay To Win. I may not care to spend money on it but that doesn't mean everyone feels the same way. And hey, we got sparrow racing for free out of it.

Some players are still salty about the initial release and feel like their purchase should have come with more content for the money. In their eyes anything that costs extra should be included because they felt ripped off last year. Now there's a whole new thing about the SRL log book. Players can claim the rewards without purchasing it.

I get that its people's choice to spend their own money on what the hell they like, but when a game cost £120 for most of us, this shit that they are charging extra for should just be in the game to unlock/achieve. You know, like the good days of gaming when you paid money for a game and for all the game.

The only reason I'm upset is because it's a good half assed game that is selling you the other half assed part, even after you already paid around $160. If you had a great complete game for the price of $60 like most ps or Xbox games and they had micro transactions, I don't think anyone would care. I've seen people post that they bought $20,$30$40 in silver, now you are talking about a $200 game. Ask your self this, is destiny really worth $200+?

Hunan pretty much nailed it. They dont add any substance to the game. They dont add things to do. And whats worse is that they are being used to fund more things you purchase with silver and NOT activities you can do. Thats my only issue. We can break it down into these events. Festival of the lost left behind what? Only legendary masks that are purely cosmetic and can only really be worn in the tower and PvP where light doesnt matter or in PvE when u r extremely over leveled where it doesnt matter. Now with SRL...It is cool. But its 2 tracks for 3 weeks. Its fun with friends but solo it already feels like a grind and has gotten too repetitive after 1 day. And we are grinding for what this time? Sparrows for the most part which dont matter in normal gameplay. Only helmets and class items have stat values, and you are hardly using a helmet during gameplay unless it adds a noticeable mechanic. Neither events have had guns...this is a shooter after all. We havent gotten "new" gear since ttk dropped. Its all been timegated along with activities like challenge mode. We are getting content from the microtansactions but it isnt content with substance

2 RepliesMostly because it does not add anything to the game but a new skin. None of it has any function with the PVP or PVE. I never liked any Sim game, so for me this does nothing. I put on armor that helps not for looks. I jump on a sparrow to get across the map not to do tricks. And to have my person bow / cry at any mob does nothing. If someone wants to say why this stuff make s them happy I would like to read about it. That way I can understand what about all this stuff makes them want to buy it. For some I know it just a "keeping up with the Joneses" thing.

Consider, instead of getting new/free content for the next year (something that could be done w micro transactions), instead, Bungie gives you a chest of junk and says "cosmetics guys, for just x amount of silver, you can play dress up." This is what micro transactions has brought to the game.
