Creative Process

So, I've been curious about this for a while now. What do you do for your creative process? What makes your mind tick?

 • I'm a huge fan of movies and cinematic story telling. I always picture my stories in my head as they happen, like a movie or tv show. So I can never right in the 1st person, it's too challenging for me. I don't even dream in the first person. Where the stories come from? Good question. I guess I envision these action sequences and I write them down. Of course the entire story can't be action so you got insert slows parts and character development in there. I always start with a Character Sheet. I list the Age, Name, Height, I don't often go into the description of my character because then you can lose the audience. I give the character a name and a personality. It's up to the reader to insert either themselves for someone they enjoy watching into the role. The character looks different to every reader. After I've listed all my characters and have described/detailed them out I move into the story. What kind of story do I want to write? What's the General plot? For The House of the Broken Kell I wanted to write an action adventure in the style of some of my favorite games/movies. Indiana Jones and Uncharted. Great Treasure Hunter, and the game just inserted relics into the game and there's not too much lore on them giving me even more content I can work with and make up. Next I break up my story By Chapter and I create outlines. DANGER'S MY MIDDLE NAME -Venus, Fallen Ketch ---.Introduce Character (Talking about something with mysterious side character) ---.Set story tone (Show the audience characters personality) ---. Shay enters the ketch ---. Trying to find something ---. Dramatic moment (Ship falls apart?) Using this outline I keep myself on track on what I want to cover in my story/chapter. Now I just start writing using this outline as a basis or notes for what I need to cover and explain in the chapter.
