Just Can't Stay Away
With all of the Destiny bashing and Disgruntled players I thought I'd ask everyone to be realistic and answer some questions: How many of you have threatened to leave but didn't, keep saying that you'll leave but cant, left BUT is constantly on Destiny Forums or actually left and came back??
What keeps you playing Destiny?
What made you leave?
I myself have been playing both Destiny and Fallout 4, Im not going too far!
Update: thanks for all of the very interesting opinions, you all made some valid points, I originally posted this because I personally know a lot of people that left and have yet to come back, some actually left before TTK, and of course I've constantly seen people on the Forums saying Destiny is dead and they quit but yet I still see them here, so just wanted to hear Real thoughts

3 RepliesI've never said that I will quit nor do I intend to. I like the game, I like the additions that have been made to it, and I look forward to the future. Bring on more DLCs and Destiny 2!

Put simply the more beautiful & cute I can my Awoken Titan the more I want to keep playing. =}

2 RepliesI'm a week old noob and bought TTK + everything on a sale. I can't quit now it's only been a week! Maybe next week I'll go play something new, like rocket league or that Mario game.

1 ReplyI stopped playing Destiny in December save from on two occasions where I had to help a friend, once in January and once in March. I will not play this game until I get what I feel is my money's worth. I will not buy DLC because I purchased the PS4 Bundle for release and was absolutely disappointed with what I got and refuse to give Bungie/Activision any more money. I come back on the forums every now and again to make sure my account does not get deleted. I also check periodically in the hopes that one day Bungie explain what happened in that year before release. I stopped playing Destiny because I felt the story was crap and unbelievably repetitive. The multiplayer offers very little in the way of choice for game modes and then limits you further by releasing modes that are temporary. I had been a fan of Bungie thanks to Halo 1 and all the way up to Reach the choice in matchmaking was plentiful. Bungie fumbled so badly with the multiplayer for this game that it's too depressing for me to even start the game up. I doubt I will ever play Destiny again, I won't be buying Destiny 2.0 unless it was something really special because this game really wasn't. So that's why I left. I stick around the forums though because I've been here for 7 years now and still have hope Bungie can make something great again.

3 RepliesI pretty much have quit already. I've only played a handful of timed over the last 6 weeks and that's just to help friends who ask for it. I've got my money's worth but I just don't like the direction this game is heading so I won't buy anymore expansions or destiny 2. I merely scour the forums while I shit.

1 ReplyI never actually went down that road of fake rage quitting. However among my friends I did state that if things did not improve from the Taken King and moving forward from there I would not be buying another expansion or iteration of destiny. This far I'm still in the air as changes are being made and most seem positive. Let's all hope for the best.

What made me leave destiny many times is this. Gaming abuse stoped me playing destiny many times. There is such a thing as too much of destiny. No one wants burn outs but they do happen.

It was completely cheatable and bungie went on vacation for 3 weeks and never fixed the raid other than a minor thing or 2. I still have the app though it's not on my phones screen. This morning I got necro bumped and couldn't sleep. I'm laying in bed watching TV and just browsing. The app is a great reminder as to why I won't come back. Edit* Why I won't play No ghost skins, broken raids, no character development, no cut scenes, pay walls, no esports support, taken king was suppose to be a part of vanilla game, pvp weapon balance constantly changing, shotguns ran rampant for too long, shaders are lame, rng is bs, game has no "depth" example) vault of glass was big, beautiful and empty as -blam!-. No secrets other than 1 chest to my knowledge have been discovered, Deej is a puppet, he accused me of "wanting to play an old game" when I posted about the lack of gametypes, halo reach was a test run for Destiny, everything is at the expense of the player and player base, timed events, bosses are boring, warframe is completely free and minus the gunplay offers a better experience and more in depth customization, nowhere near enough content, bungie lied to everyone about the size, support and future of destiny and what it looked like Just can't put time or money into that. I'll gladly come here every few months and remind people though.

1 ReplyI haven't played in a while. I'm enjoying bo3, fo4 and bloodborne's dlc. I'm glad I took a break. Don't really have any desire to come back at this point. Maybe in the future. I had lots of fun with destiny tho.
