I knew Witcher 3 would take home the award, but I don't agree with the decision. So many stronger games that were nominated.
My pick is Fallout 4, and had it released earlier in the year, I believe it would have won. Although, I can't remember the last time I agreed with the game that took home GotY, so I guess my taste in games varies differently from the voters.

Fallout was a let down conpared to witcher

I disagree, and that's okay. I didn't enjoy Witcher 3 anywhere near as much as I have Fallout 4.

I'm sure there are more than a few that share your opinion, otherwise it wouldn't have won. I don't share your/their sentiment, and enjoy Fallout more. I'm sure there are people that agree with me too. All a matter of opinion and choice. In the end, you don't agree with me, and I don't agree with you, and it doesn't really matter which side your on. I know that it's human nature to want to be accepted and have people agree with you and the way you think, because that means we all have something in common that we can share, but the truth of the matter is that not everyone is going to agree with you or the many others that share your same likes/dislikes. Witcher 3 winning has no affect on me whatsoever. I'm not going to like it more, and I'm not going to suggest my friends play it, because [i]I[/i] didn't enjoy it as much as [i]I[/i] did Fallout 4. Whether they listen to me or not is up to them, but for the most part they agree with me. Would I de-friend them if they liked Witcher 3 more? No. That is just silly, it is only a game afterall.

I believe the hype is what brought fallout 4 down. In my opinion, Witcher 3 is the better game. But a lot of people prefer gun play vs sword play.

Yeah a company that listens to its fans and produces a DRM free game that's engaging, fun to play, built with care and attention to detail should not of won at all.
