Forge of Gods story mission: The Nine (part 2)

Part 1 BUNKER-SIM-9 (darkness zone) [unfinished] Cutscene 2
You enter a huge, dark, circular room. There is a huge whole in the center of the floor, which is filled with a dark grey mist. Your ghost hovers right beside you and says "This should be the place. You ask it "So um………….any ideas on how to summon or awaken them?” Your ghost replies, “Just because I’m a ghost doesn’t mean I know everything.” You then spot a strange coin lying on the floor. You walk up to it, and pick it up, then look at your ghost. You say, “I’ve got an idea.” You throw the strange coin into the abyss. Suddenly, it stops in midair, turns white, and begins to dissolve into energy, darting down the whole at a blindingly fast rate. You look down the whole and hear a distant roar. The mist starts to glow as if there was a light shining through it. Something was approaching, answering the call. The closer it got, the more intensely the mist glowed. A massive, dragon-like entity emerges out of the pit. Its scales are whiter than the snow that covers Europa’s surface. Its eyes are so bright, it hurts to look at them. Energy constantly surges through its body. You flinch and quickly aim your weapon at the massive creature before you. Your ghost says in astonishment “An ahamkara!?!? But they were hunted to extinction centuries ago!” The creature snarls, “The Nine do not welcome you here, guardian!” The voice sounds exactly like an agent of the Nine. “What is your purpose here? Why do you disturb the Nine?” You say “We wish to seek your help with restoring a warmind in the Cosmodrome, on Earth.” Your ghost continues “He’s very much alive, but we’re having a hard time convincing it we’re allies. Many guardians fell, trying to do so.” The creature replies, “Ah, Rasputin, yes? The only warmind that survived the collapse without the help of the Nine. Once it fought to protect humanity. Now it fights for its own survival alone, killing any whom it deems a threat or intruder.” You ask “Will you help us?” The creature growls “The Nine have more important matters to worry about. We are aware of our purpose and the reason of our existence, and it is not to grant wishes!” Your ghost replies, “Is there anything we can do to change your mind, oh great one?” The creature pauses to ponder the question, then says “Hmm. You wish to do something in exchange. We shall make a deal, guardian. But first comes knowledge. Mara Sov was the queen of the Awoken. She had many foes. She used our chambers as prisons for which she can dispose of her enemies. The Nine owe the queen, and so we hold many of her prisoners to this day. After her defeat against Oryx, she decided to relinquish her throne, granting it to Petra, Variks, and the guardians.” Your ghost says, “Decided? I thought the queen was dead. She was inside of her Ketch when it blew up, right?” The ahamkara replies, “Indeed, she was. And yet she still lives. The Nine have made it so. Now that the Reef belongs to the guardians, our debt to the queen becomes our debt to you. The Nine will help you with Rasputin, but this will pay off our debt, and we will release our prisoners. Whether you hunt them down or let them roam free, that is for you to decide. But it will no longer be the Nine’s responsibility. Your kind will be given the burden of our prisoners, in exchange for the burden of your warmind. The Nine enjoy to trade. For that, your presence here is excused. Do you seek knowledge, guardian? To satisfy your curiosity?" Dialogue options: “Who are you? Are you a part of the Nine?”: The ahamkara answers, “Indeed. And my name… is Xûr. The agents you see in the tower are under my control. I am an ahamkara, the last of my kind. Eao, Nyx, and several others were slain by the first guardians. I too, was to receive the same fate. I fled Venus to escape them, but they followed me here. I hid to prolong my survival. But then I was found by a young Awoken child, lost in a blizzard. She was young. She meant me no harm. And we became what she called... friends. More Awoken arrived later, searching for the child, and they found her. They found me. Some of them were guardians. They drew out their spears and tried to kill me, just as they had done with the rest of my kind. The deep black was close, and I assured them that I was their only chance of survival. They continued to attack, and if they did not stop soon, I would have no choice but to fight back. The child cried as spears and bullets pierced my body. Her distress made the guardians stop and listen to what I had to say. I promised them, that if they did not attack me, I would not attack them. If they gave me their ghosts, bodies, and a warm shelter inside the Jovian warmind, they would live on inside the warmind and survive the deep. We would all become one. And so we did. This is why the Nine's domain is forbidden. So that I, the last of my kind, may have a place where I am safe from being hunted. The bodies of the Awoken I was with now belong to me. Since they are mine, they are no longer entitled to their individual names. So I gave them mine. Their minds now flow through the warmind, and through me. Through leviathans that swim in the oceans below. Through energy waves, places, and things which life forms like you could simply not understand. This is the Nine. We are the Nine. Have you any more questions, guardian?" Where is the queen? How did she survive?”: The ahamkara answers, “That information is classified to the Nine, and too advanced for your kind to understand. I cannot and will not explain. It is in the Nine’s best interest that you not yet know. But the time may come, guardian, when you will learn. Have you any more questions, guardian?” “You seem very fond of trades. Why is that?”: The ahamkara answers, “Ah, yes! Trades, bargains, exchanges, agreements! I am very glad you asked that question. Not only is trade the core foundation of the Nine, but it is also in the very nature of my kind, the ahamkara. That is why the Nine send agents to the tower. So that we may continue to make trades, just as my brethren and I did in times of old. We are creatures of the Traveler, creatures of the light. Trades. Mutualism. Fairness. Those are what it means to be a part of the light, guardian. The darkness does not follow such principles. It takes, and leaves nothing in its wake. And so much taking it has done. I take back what I said about being the last of my kind. I am the last who follows the light. There are 4 more who follow the darkness. All of whom are stronger than I. They never give. They can only take. They are slaves to a force of unspeakable power. An insatiable hunger that never ceases to consume. The more it consumes, the hungrier it becomes. That is what it means to choose the darkness. Trade is the way of the light, and theft is the way of the dark. Have you any more questions, guardian?” “Nope. Not at the moment. Thank you for your time.”: The ahamkara responds, “Very well, guardian. My dark counterparts, Xol, Ur, Eir, and Yul, watch this war and laugh. The worm gods are aware of Oryx's death, and so they fortell a prophecy: A war which shall determine who becomes the next king of taking. Vex, Fallen, and Cabal fight for what they think will grant them godhood. But alas, it will do nothing more than consume and corrupt them. It will render them all into slaves. They play directly into the hands of the worms as we speak. The time for knowledge is over. Now comes the time for doing. Go now, oh visitor mine. There is much to do if you are to destroy the armies that fight over the dark." He teleports you out of his domain.
The mission ends, and you get a grimoire card about the House of Dragons.
