Refer a friend help, and yes, I've been combing through the forum trying everything to troubleshoot =)

Veteran is me: abaffledwaffle (year one, triumphs) referee: my friend in real life who just bought a ps4 and TTK on Wednesday (RUBBACAA4) It shows, after an hour of waiting, and logging in and out, "Your friend has yet to purchase and play Destiny: The Taken King. Once they have completed the necessary steps, you will be Linked Friends." He owns a physical copy, has created a character, and has completed the first mission. He's a hunter. He has created a bungie profile. I usually keep to r/destinythegame, but I really want this to work out and am desperate. Bungie, please help us.

  • I'm having the exact same problem on Xbox 1, my friend got the TTK and destiny around 3 days ago, i've played through with him and done the TTK DLC and got him to level 40 but it's still coming up with the message - "Your friend has yet to purchase and play Destiny: The Taken King. Once they have completed the necessary steps, you will be Linked Friends." How do we solve this!

    • Hi abaffledwaffle, Please ensure that your friend has redeemed all of the codes that came with his physical copy of Destiny: The Taken King.

      • As long as he hasn't started the coming war you have time to figure this out....attempt to re-link him and make sure his psn is activated as the primary account on his ps4....also make sure he has the dlc actually installed

      • Have you tried canceling that link and sending him a new referral link? I have a feeling you have by the way you worded it. But this has helped some people

        • Is anything pending? Sometimes it may take a day or so.
