  • My first as well. I actually liked being in the dark. I felt I could related better to the story. Felt overwhelmed and lost but in a great way! Now that I know what I'm doing better it's started to lose a tiny bit of that. Just a lil. Still brought more fun doing things and doing them well. But something about that lost in the world feeling that's so fun to me and realistic. Only recently stopped crouching everywhere hiding!

  • There is a certain vendor in diamond city who cells an amazing sword that one shots ghouls and other low-medium ranged enemies at a really cheap price, so buy that

  • -Tap the VATS button often to reveal nearby enemies, friendlies, & mines in your line of sight. -Get a gun for each type of ammo -Use shotguns sparingly, mostly on feral ghouls unless you have a surplus of ammo for them. -Be thorough, search every inch of an area before moving on or you might miss something special. -Sneak and take it slow, you never know when there might be a tripwire or a group of enemies around a corner. -Lockpicking and Hacking, take their associated perks if you want access to everywhere in the game. -Hacking, selecting bracketed entries doesn't use up guesses and removes the duds. Ex: (:;) . <> . [.,] . {*%} -The Local Leader perk, located in charisma, allows you to create supply lines. Supply lines *Links just have to create a chain, sanctuary to red rocket station to farm *supply lines share all materials (junk, aid, mods) used in crafting/building that are store in all associated workshop's workbenches -mods can be removed from weapons and armor you find and applied to any weapon or armor of the same type it was remove from. -Armor mods: Leather, Metal, Raider, Combat, & Synth armors come in 3 tiers. Base, Sturdy, Heavy. If you make a shadowed mod for a leather chest piece, you can apply it to a heavy leather chest piece even though you don't have the Rank 4 Armorer Perk.

Keep ALL junk except post war money. Every single thing is used in this game. Community building takes a ton of mats too.

  • Hey dude, I'm back from work! OK, first things first, Fallout is not Destiny. You don't actually go and collect one or two certain guns, and be able to beat everything the game throws at you lol. There really isn't a fatebringer/glallahorn situation. You must decide what kind of guns YOU want to use, and focus your build around that. I would recommend choosing one weapon type to excel in, rather than be a jack of all trades, as you will see, it is much more beneficial this way. I personally chose to build my character around a play style focusing on non automatic pistols, VATS, and modding, but you are free to build your character however you please! There is no actual recommended WAY to build your character, it is all entirely up to you, though of course some builds might prove more efficient than others, but as long as you don't put points into like 4 different weapon types, you will be fine! Play around at the start, and see what weapons you feel comfortable using, and start putting perks in as you level that will affect the style of play you have adopted, and soon enough, you will find the game a lot easier. When it comes to looting, dude, loot as much as you can carry, and go drop off all the junk regularly at any place you are able, just try and remember where you put it all later, eventually you will be able to build supply lines between all your settlements and will be able to store anything anywhere, and be able to access it. There isn't much that isn't useful, anything can be broken down into materials that you can use to mod your weapons and build things in your settlements, which can be a great way to make some caps, and buy some better gear, fill up on ammo, and of course drugs and alcohol! I would also recommend putting a couple of points into lockpicking and hacking as they can get you into some useful places, but there are also companions that you will meet that can do that for you if you don't want to do it yourself. Fallout is about exploration, walk around, search everywhere for things, pick up every mission you can, check what vendors are selling regularly, you never know when they might have something awesome up for grabs, don't get too wrapped in the story and fly through, you can always do this later on a second playthrough, on your first, it is much better to just explore the wasteland and do as many things as you can, you will meet many named characters that can give you missions, do them, you really never know how fruitful some missions can end up being. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask man, but basically, loot everything, kill everything, and just have fun exploring man, there is no multiplayer aspect, just take your time to enjoy the world, and you will love it!

  • If you decide to go with snipers, just a little tip, when you come across Vault 81, there will be a trader in there who sells a very good rifle that will help a lot !

  • Overseer Guardian is a really good weapon if you are having a hard time. You can get it from Vault 81 for about 2000 caps. Try farming a shotgun with a bleed prefix, and or a sniper with the two shot prefix.
