Supporting the company isn't justification enough? How about enjoying the emote? How about paying for something that they like? I'm sure you've bought something that someone else has thought was stupid? No one tells you that buying video games are a waste? Just me? Ok. No one has told you that buying that 10 dollar burger was a waste when you could have made something at home instead? No? Wow you must be good.
