To the children who buy emotes

You're literally paying real life money for your character to do a 2-10 second action. You cannot justify this. You can make excuses and I'll post your excuses for being a child using their parents credit card below. When you pay for emotes you are showing AAA companies that they can take stuff out of their game that better games give for FREE and sell it. I understand the type of audience who buys silver....and that audience is classified as the casual gamer. Not real gamers. I love how I make a spelling mistake because I'm human and since you guys have no real valid arguments to make you choose 1 grammatical error. Only proves my point that you don't know how to spend money wisely. Excuse #1: It's my money. Excuse #2: I make (put exaggerated amount of money made per year here) and I can afford it. Excuse #3: Don't worry about my money! (They know they're wrong and are trying SO HARD to justify something that just isn't justifiable). Almost 50 replies and only 3 poor excuses have been made. Proving my point again.... I think you guys have tired yourself out. I just had to sit through the snot nosed kids coming in trying to justify purchases for EMOTES...I legit think I have cancer now. Thanks Density. To the kids who think that I'm poor...I make well over 250k a year. Money aint nutin. Because I know you guys still can't come up with any good logical reasons as to why you pay for emotes other than you like Bungie screwing you over. Still waiting on that person but I'm starting to lose hope that there will be someone who can explain it logically. SOMEONE FOUND A LOGICAL REASON TO GET AN EMOTE!
Because Microsoft paid for it by giving me codes worth $5-$10
You guys disagreeing with facts have produced more salt than every single salt factory in the galaxiez.

I don't buy emotes, but if I did, it would be to make more amusing content for my Youtube channel. There are plenty of times that I know that if I had Sorrow, for example, it would be freaking hilarious to do it, and that's the kind of thing that I like in a video. My thoughts anyway. Edit: since apparently this is not "logical" by OP's standards, I shall explain in dumb dumb terms: I buy emotes and use in Youtube videos. Makes better content. Better content means more views and subscribers. More views and subscribers means more money that youtube gives me. Thus, the emotes have payed for themselves, and then some. #TitanMasterRace

  • I'm not a child, but I can justify it anyway. I buy them because I want to. Because those emotes entertain me. There. I justified my actions. Therefore ruining your entire argument. Good day sir.

    • Dude why do you care, seriously, no ones asking you to spend your money, why don't you go stand outside a restaurant and yell at ppl to spend their money at a grocery store if you're so concerned with how others spend their money

    • im def a hardcore gamer in a sense i really enjoy games and have been for a very long time. that being said if a company delivers something extremely nice, like a fully fledged game with no dlc but decided to bump the price a bit most hard core gamers may complain but be like "damn that was tiny bit pricey but it was worth it!" we will GLADLY pay you money for an extremely polished game. the OP has a point when he says if u support the dlc and cutting content, they companies will keep doing so. for me, i dont want companies to sell emotes etc. i want then to sell is a freakin good ass game with everything attached. A good example is when a person buys. 100+ CE gane and feels good about it. for destiny, i see more people regretting having spent money on it

      • It's like buying a nice watch. You don't need a nice watch to tell the time. But you like it and it looks cool. Therefore you bought it. With your logic we only can have enough to satisfy our most basic needs and cannot have something that is outside of pure functionality. What does that sound like oh ya communism :p

      • The dances are meant for noobs. That way they can feel like they're doing a good job. Mainly low grimoire scrubs that buy them. So they can dance after they die 12 times on a level 36 strike.

        • I'm 22. Not that I'd really want to give out my social account. But I'd be willing to prove it if you're that dead set in thinking I'm a child. I'm legally an adult. So according to the law I'm deemed responsible enough to spend my money how I want. As long as its legal. You could argue that some people who are legal adults shouldn't be. And if that's the case you should probably be helping your state re define the qualifiers for being an adult rather then flaming people on a gaming forum. Secondly these are cosmetics. You have the right to deem some cosmetics as not worth the price. That is your right and everyone else's. but the worth of a cosmetic is based on the individual. It would be like trying to place a real world price on your favorite blanket from childhood. To me it would be worthless to you it has value. Thirdly. Plenty of other games offer cosmetics. Are you against cosmetic items being sold in general? If so why are you not dedicating as much time to other games and preaching the same message? If you're only against it in destiny explain why it's alright in other games but not this one. Lastly most players these days are against dlc. Yet cosmetic items being sold are accepted. Especially in FTP games. So tell me. What is so wrong about buying cosmetics? The player gets something they want. Developers get more funding which allows them to create more content and support the game better. All I can think of is it coming down to the sense of entitlement. Either that or you're a deeply disturbed individual. It's not your money. It doesn't give them an advantage. And the only impact it's brought so far is something you don't even have to deal with (more cosmetics) You either feel like this content should be yours for free. Which makes you a child. Or you don't think the developers deserve the money. But since you already bought the game and spoke with your wallet your opinion doesn't matter anymore since they have your money. So you seek to harass others. Which again makes you a child. I look forward to your response. Though I predict you'll either flat out ignore this post or try to BS through my valid points and probably attack me along the way. Your move.

I paid 20 for the most emote money and bought a ton. What is 20 bucks? It cant even buy two drinks at a bar not even considering tipping.20 cant buy 1 good main course at most restaurants, 20 cant buy a fairly good bottle of wine, 20 bucks isnt even enough to park your car for a day in S.F., 20 cant buy a new video game, 20 bucks CAN buy a meal for two at mcdonalds and leave you with 3 dollars..... So if you want to ruin your health and have 3 dollars to spend on what..... two candy bars???? Then dont buy emotes. btw you want a head to head reply to your post? fine.... for most people that play destiny it is a full on hobby. Just this game. Most hobbies like sking, mountainbiking, motorcycling, boating, etc etc etc cost thousands and tens of thousands of dollars potentially. and you spend much less time on those hobbies than most here do with destiny. Again if you read this you are likely hard core destiny which means hour for hour and dollar for dollar buying emotes is probably under five cents a day if a daily player. try that with mountain biking try that with motorcycling etc etc

              • I love how people complain that there are children playing this game and buying stuff for this game when destiny is rated T FOR TEEN. People pay real life money for camos in call of duty and no one seems to have a problem with it. But when it comes to an emote that actually does an interactive thing and not just sit on your gun to make it look pretty everyone looses their sh*t. Get a life, and stop complain on forums about a T RATED GAME.
