To the children who buy emotes

You're literally paying real life money for your character to do a 2-10 second action. You cannot justify this. You can make excuses and I'll post your excuses for being a child using their parents credit card below. When you pay for emotes you are showing AAA companies that they can take stuff out of their game that better games give for FREE and sell it. I understand the type of audience who buys silver....and that audience is classified as the casual gamer. Not real gamers. I love how I make a spelling mistake because I'm human and since you guys have no real valid arguments to make you choose 1 grammatical error. Only proves my point that you don't know how to spend money wisely. Excuse #1: It's my money. Excuse #2: I make (put exaggerated amount of money made per year here) and I can afford it. Excuse #3: Don't worry about my money! (They know they're wrong and are trying SO HARD to justify something that just isn't justifiable). Almost 50 replies and only 3 poor excuses have been made. Proving my point again.... I think you guys have tired yourself out. I just had to sit through the snot nosed kids coming in trying to justify purchases for EMOTES...I legit think I have cancer now. Thanks Density. To the kids who think that I'm poor...I make well over 250k a year. Money aint nutin. Because I know you guys still can't come up with any good logical reasons as to why you pay for emotes other than you like Bungie screwing you over. Still waiting on that person but I'm starting to lose hope that there will be someone who can explain it logically. SOMEONE FOUND A LOGICAL REASON TO GET AN EMOTE!
Because Microsoft paid for it by giving me codes worth $5-$10
You guys disagreeing with facts have produced more salt than every single salt factory in the galaxiez.

  • Adds personality to my toon. Being a single man in my thirties without kids or drug/alcohol addiction, having a fulltime job gives me access to Destiny's little luxuries.

    • If they give me free silver, I'll buy emotes all day. I won't judge those who do it. Seriously it's their money. But, I always think twice when I see a bum on the street and think "are they there because of horrible bad luck or just bad choices of money on their part?"

Because it's my money I made myself. You can call it a childish excuse all you want. You make the same excuse saying
To the kids who think that I'm poor...I make well over 250k a year. Money aint nutin.
YOU paid money for this GAME too.... Right? So why would you pay money for a digital representation of a fantasy universe in which you can shoot, jump... and DANCE amongst other things? I'll tell you why... Because YOU wanted to. Because YOU could afford to. Did you pay for the DLC that wasn't part of the original game? What's that???......... YOU did? Then you're a MASSIVE hypocrite. Forget what you purchased... DLC, an Emote, whatever. That's irrelevant in my point. And the point is... YOU saw the value to yourself personally in purchasing something not ORIGINALLY included in the game. YOU didn't have to justify that to anyone. Even to those who cried foul when the whole TTK package options and pricing were happening. And, from your little self important, self entitled rant, you don't strike me as the type of person that would even consider justifying yourself to anyone else. Your opinion is yours, but it matters not to me. I don't need to justify myself to you or anyone else for MY decision to spend extra money on something that added value to MY Destiny experience for ME. The fact Bungie made extra money out of it (funnily enough just like they did via the DLC YOU purchased) is ok by me, as I have/are/will enjoy Destiny enough to emotionally justify my decision to spend money on Emotes etc. I'm probably older than you, and most of the people on here. I earn my money to use it however I see fit... And yes, I'm aware of your "one eyed" point about "every game developer will start the cash grab"... But in reality, we all know they won't. No one is forcing YOU to buy anything. And if you happen to get any benefit from people like me who spend their own money via extra/better content, then... You're welcome. But I'm going to keep spending MY money however I want, because you sure as sh!t spend yours the way you want... And probably on things others would criticize you for. Signed, Mr Desticle
inb4 the flood
Edit: So you edited to say no-one has posted a logical reason. Logic often is inextricably linked to opinion. Opinion = Because it was worth it to ME. Logic = Because I wanted to. Please explain how "Because I wanted to" isn't logical.

                  • Lol at you for thinking there is any logical reasoning for purchasing anything other than food, clothing, and shelter. The reason we purchase what we want is because we want it, and for no better reason. You're a fool and a dick. Any excuse you have for being either, let alone both, is less worthy than the excuses people gave you for buying emotes. Get good scrub.

All video games fit in various degrees in the "waste of money" category. Why nitpick over other people paying a few bucks for emotes when you likely spend hundreds of dollars per year playing games that are barely better from a personal finance standpoint?

I don't buy emotes, but if I did, it would be to make more amusing content for my Youtube channel. There are plenty of times that I know that if I had Sorrow, for example, it would be freaking hilarious to do it, and that's the kind of thing that I like in a video. My thoughts anyway. Edit: since apparently this is not "logical" by OP's standards, I shall explain in dumb dumb terms: I buy emotes and use in Youtube videos. Makes better content. Better content means more views and subscribers. More views and subscribers means more money that youtube gives me. Thus, the emotes have payed for themselves, and then some. #TitanMasterRace
