To the children who buy emotes

You're literally paying real life money for your character to do a 2-10 second action. You cannot justify this. You can make excuses and I'll post your excuses for being a child using their parents credit card below. When you pay for emotes you are showing AAA companies that they can take stuff out of their game that better games give for FREE and sell it. I understand the type of audience who buys silver....and that audience is classified as the casual gamer. Not real gamers. I love how I make a spelling mistake because I'm human and since you guys have no real valid arguments to make you choose 1 grammatical error. Only proves my point that you don't know how to spend money wisely. Excuse #1: It's my money. Excuse #2: I make (put exaggerated amount of money made per year here) and I can afford it. Excuse #3: Don't worry about my money! (They know they're wrong and are trying SO HARD to justify something that just isn't justifiable). Almost 50 replies and only 3 poor excuses have been made. Proving my point again.... I think you guys have tired yourself out. I just had to sit through the snot nosed kids coming in trying to justify purchases for EMOTES...I legit think I have cancer now. Thanks Density. To the kids who think that I'm poor...I make well over 250k a year. Money aint nutin. Because I know you guys still can't come up with any good logical reasons as to why you pay for emotes other than you like Bungie screwing you over. Still waiting on that person but I'm starting to lose hope that there will be someone who can explain it logically. SOMEONE FOUND A LOGICAL REASON TO GET AN EMOTE!
Because Microsoft paid for it by giving me codes worth $5-$10
You guys disagreeing with facts have produced more salt than every single salt factory in the galaxiez.

  • Life is what you want it to be be. If you have the money and you want a character in a game to dance, then buy that dance if it's what you want. The view of anyone else on the matter is irrelevant.

  • There is no justifiable reason to buy them i bought 1. But a helluva lot of people were under the impression that the money towards these things would bring free dlc. Of course it makes sense but bungie never said that, and then activision made the asshole comment " dlc and microtransactions can work together.

  • If you like something, you buy it. I saw the emotes, liked them, and bought a few. I'm a grown man, I have a job, I can buy things I like however I please. Stop being a crybaby.

    • The point is, buying silver actively makes gaming worse for everyone else. Here's what happens, we've already seen this in the mobile space, we KNOW this is how it works: Microtransactions are added purely as a cosmetic. They are popular enough that companies look at ways to expand it. Microtransactions are then added that change the game, not merely cosmetic. This is the infamous "pay to win", scheme. The final step is where playing the game is actively hindered unless you pay extra. "Oh, we're so sorry, you can't do that for 24 hours... Unless you want to buy some of our diamonds. For 200 diamonds, you can do that right now. Oh. But we only sell them 500 at a time..." If you persist in buying Silver, this is the road you're putting us on. We know this because the items are already in the database... "Oh, you already ran the Nightfall this week? No worries, buy a Vex Chronospanner and you can re-run the Nightfall and get rewarded again!"

      • This is a classical boring topic explains real life and cyber life. I really dont understand why people make a difference between them. What makes you think buying a dance in the game is different than buying a toy or something ridicilous you like that you see somewhere at the street... A kid may ask his parents to buy a toy car for himself because he likes it and a kid may ask his parents to buy a emote in Destiny cause he likes it. Why do you seperate it? This is the same. Why do you go so mad if they they buy a emote and looking for excuse. There is no excuse in that. It musnt be..

        • It really comes down to what the person themselves think is worth it. If they feel it is worth paying for it then they are entitled to it. If not then you wouldn't buy it. Emotes aren't game breaking so it makes no difference having to pay for one

Supporting the company isn't justification enough? How about enjoying the emote? How about paying for something that they like? I'm sure you've bought something that someone else has thought was stupid? No one tells you that buying video games are a waste? Just me? Ok. No one has told you that buying that 10 dollar burger was a waste when you could have made something at home instead? No? Wow you must be good. Make this thread again when you buy some expensive food and add justification of "it was good". Food is food, at the end of the day you still poop the same poop. I'll buy what I want. Also I haven't bought emotes. For the next three months eat oatmeal. It's the same as real food.
You're literally paying real life money for your character to do a 2-10 second action.
I like them so what? You're literally deciding what i should do with my money? Why does it bother you so much that people buy them? I really don't know why you are so against it. If you don't like them, don't buy them. But other may like them so they will buy them.. By the way, i smoke. Are you going to tell me i shouldn't spend money on cigarettes? I do drink aswell in the weekends. Are you going to tell me i shouldn't spend money on beer?

              • This a little vicious and dejected to me as to why you have considered your entitlement to write your post. Of course you have an opinion and that’s wonderful, but this post is just clear judgement on others and how they should spend their money. Some of the players of course will ask their parents/guardians (please excuse the pun) if they could purchase some silver and no doubt a number of these parents or guardians will say yes or no for whatever reasons they deem fit, maybe a gift for doing well in school for example or no for not doing so well. I personally purchase my own as I’m working and I can afford a few extras, why do I purchase the extras; because they enhance my pleasure and entertainment within the game. They add fun for me and my friends that play Destiny. I understand that these items are cosmetic only and have no physical bearing on the conclusion of the game. For me personally as long as I can afford things, that’s anything and I’m not getting myself in distress with debt and such then I’ll make what I consider a sensible purchase. It’s truly beyond me that you can stand up on your soap box and point the finger to others who just want some extra fun within the game and they can afford it. Every single person is completely different and has their own priorities, what they see fit as a perfectly acceptable purchase. This concerns me and me only in this case, at what point do other people (yourself in particular in this instance) I don’t even know start caring about how I or others spend money? I’ll leave here but consider this question answered and justified as to why I spend a little extra! Oh and just a quick one, I’m not your stereotypical snotty nosed adolescent, I’m 49…

                    • I'm just gonna say I've spent more on less. It it worth it? That can only be decided by the buyer. For the Carlton yes it was. for the slow clap however knowing it was cut from the original content... no it wasn't worth it but I still bought it just to be that guy bungie milked the last bit of money I've decided to spend on their brand. Well.. at least for the next 5 years. By then I can buy the next game and all 3 dlcs for $60 instead of buying the entire game twice again

                      • The biggest fallacy in this entire post is that you make 250k a year. No one that makes that kind of money is ignorant enough to come on a gaming forums and bash "kids" for spending a couple bucks. You're the definition of loser.
