The worms are the black blobs that we see in. .. the heart of the black garden. .. the chest of oryx .... in the touch of malic. Those black things are worms. Just different sizes.

Oh that? No no. That's the Vex attempt at recreating the Darkness, which is physical blighted light. When Quria took a worm they understood that this was what was different from Oryx and Aurash, they studied it, replicated it's power etc etc. The hierarchy goes Darkness Worm Gods Oryx Hive. Or at least that's how it went, Auryx killed Akka (then became Oryx) and bypassed the Worm God's so... Darkness Worm Gods/Oryx Hive In the sense of the Black Heart as I said that was the Darkness, and then Quria/the Sol Progeny(....hmm... there's a thought), then the rest of the Vex. The things we see on the Dreadnaught, the little maggots, are the worms ingested by the Hive for immortality. The Worm Gods are different even from that, they're described to have large wings, very much like dragons. So no. It's all but directly said that the blighted lights are not worms.

The vex got there hands on a worm and started worshiping it. That was the heart of the black garden. No?

yes and no, Quria dictated the act of worship to try to assimilate to the "God Power" the Hive had. They stole a Worm noticing that it was the the cause of their power. When Quria met Oryx at the Gift Mast Quria replicated him, not being able to comprehend the connection to the Darkness however he could only replicate Aurash, this showed Oryx how the Worms have actually corrupted him more than he realized but thats besides the point. The Vex likely simulated the Darkness after studying the Worm, creating the Black Heart. This is most concretely shown as it acts EXACTLY as the Darkness itself acts. it has no true shape, Worms do, it steals the shape of other bodys, Worms only act as parasites to hosts.
