Go back in time to when they actually were a common drop and save them up.
Realistically, just run strikes for engrams and turn them in. Or run the nightfall. Nightfall always gives me ~20 coins anymore for at least one character, and some 3 of coins with another.

They are way more common now. I get 100-200/week just from doing bounties.

They've nerfed strange coins, I turn in at least 8 bounties a day and have received about 10 from just playing. Leveling up only grants me 4 coins, and THAT takes a while too. It's definitely harder nowadays.

I haven't put much time in the last few weeks, so wouldn't really know. Just burnt out. Hop on here to see what's going on, or if some special event is happening I need to get on for. I haven't touched bounties in ages, though.
