I got Monte Carlo last night dropped at 290 though ;( not had chance to use it really, any good?

Monte Carlo is awesome - huge range and accuracy, and the melee perk is boss.

What's it better in, pve or PvP?

I really don't PvP so can't say for sure, although I imagine with its range, ROF, and stability it could do quite well. I was loving the Zhalo for PvE until I had a year 2 Monte drop and remembered just how good it is - it's my go-to AR on my hunter.

Yeh I love the zhalo, can't wait to give the monte a proper go in pve, just been living in crucible as I got the last word the other day, that gun is a machine in PvP

I just got it from VoG! That means PlayStation for me! But I gave it a whirl, and it's stability is okay, but great range, accurate, and Rate of Fire!
