Umm, look at Switzerland and Israel. You can get guns so easy and carry them too, and guess what their crime rates are like? Very low

Idk about israels laws but i find that improbable considering that israel is basically a terrorist state. Switzerland may allow guns but they also have the strictest laws governing them.

Guns on the streets become fewer & fewer, criminals that wish to buy guns end up paying through the nose for them so your basic burglar wouldnt be able to afford 1. Its simple economics, the harder that something is to acquire the more expensive it becomes & transactions like that raise flags. In america i can get a shotgun free with every shop i do that thats over $100, thats just -blam!-ed up. As for israel? I hope it changes but as far as im concerned... sharon was a war criminal, he just had friends in the right places so he could avoid prosecution. He was no better than saddam hussein & im glad hes gone.

Im not even gonna get into this as you've already said plenty to klars. I will ask though. How is what I said illogical?? I never at any point said that we need more guns any less firearm laws. All I said was that criminals by definition won't follow the law. Which, when you think about it, is both true and logical. I wasn't getting behind him calling you an idiot. IMO that type of behaviour doesn't help anybody. So I'll apologise for my part in that. I merely ment to agree with the criminals not following the law statement. I actually feel that Australian firearms laws are quite adequeate and that statement could be backed up with the fact that we haven't had a mass shooting here since 1996. Maybe if other countries could take a leaf out of our book then things might be better. You couldn't be more right about the 2nd amendment being outdated. And that's an understatement. Most people don't realise that it was put in the constitution because America feared that the British would want their colonies back one day and figured arming its citizens would help prevent that. Applicable for the time... Not so much these days. Sadly though, as you said, the NRA has far too much power and it'll be a loooong time before we see any change on that front. (Sorry for the late reply.. Been cramming end of year exams)

The 2nd amendment should be removed, it was created in a different time & those times dont exist anymore. America may think it moves with the times but the mentality doesnt. What happened in paris is nothing compared the idiocy performed in america every damn week. Before the usa were even forced into the war a small group of american pilots saw what was happening in europe & deserted to join the fight, a cpl of mths later they were contacted by headquarters & told to return home. They refused & were told they would face severe punishment on their return, those american pilots fought in the battle of britain, after the usa headquarters had read the battle accounts of their pilots deeds sent to them by britain the usa headquarters dropped all charges & sent them a msg saying "you're doing us proud boys, america loves you". True story & those are real heroes, so dont preach about saving us when it was only a handful of guys that truly cared. Being forced to fight isnt the same thing. ps. id rather trust an isis fanatic than a gun toting retard any day of the week, at least terrorists have a cause no matter how warped their thinking is.
