To be honest, it takes an hour to get the non raid fragments, then half an hour to get the raid ones.

Exactly, you got time to raid then you got time to farm fragments. If you are time poor it is well worth giving up raiding for a week to get it. To be honest the time it takes you to find a raid group that will take you without it could be invested in getting it.....
