I'd be ok if armor got lifted up, just for looks purposes. But the weapons from year 1 are generally more well rounded (with the combination of perks available) so having them compared to current weapons wouldn't fit well. And currently Bungie could fix the META a bit more by tweaking sniping on revive and reduce the effectiveness of Pulse Rifles by a little. It wouldn't make it perfect, but would help make it better.
