You got your 18. 3 actual pieces of exotic armour for each class, and 3 exotic class items you get from the factions. That's 6 per class and means 18 all up.
It's a -blam!-ing slimy technicality they can point to whenever someone questions them like this.
I think the worst part however is that they actively advertised using items that aren't in the game. The Tarantala hunter chest piece was in the trailers, as was the blink warlock helmet, as well as the warlock boots. They lied, practically to our faces, and for the most part it seems nobody cares.

It's not that I don't care, it's that I now know better than to expect differently. New games coming soon, and an excellent time to work on the backlog of other games (that are not sticking it to their players).

They did that at launch too. Honestly at this point if your still supporting them you have no one to blame but yourself. Personally I left a month after launch. I knew better than to buy the first dlcs before they announced what they contained. I only came back a month ago because of a sheer lack of anything good on ps4, and because it looked like bungie actually added a good amount of content to TTK dlc, which they did. In the month that I've been playing I've pretty much maxed out my 3 characters, taking them pretty much as far as I can without consistently raiding or enduring the pvp which I dislike greatly. My interest in the game is waning, but I'll likely keep playing it at least a couple times a week. Will I pay for any other content? Given the fact that they essentially rendered all content from house of wolves obsolete just a few months after they released it.... No, I won't.

in what way did they lie? I've seen plenty of films where something in the trailer doesn't end up in the film. The re-film or cut scenes prior to release if they feel they don't work. Same with games.

When did they portray 6 main actors in a film trailer, and then have 3 of them not show up in the movie?
