Definitely not. Reintroducing old content should never be a priority. We have played VoG/CE enough. Every single employee/resource at Bungie should be dedicated to making new and exciting playable areas/weapons/missions/quests. Reintroducing them closer to the end of Destiny's intended 10 year plan could be a fun nostalgia trip as the game draws to a close. Recycling content after just 1/2 years is too early in my opinion.

 • I don't agree with you that we have played 'x' enough. A totally new version of Destiny is on the works as we speak, THAT would be the moment in which we have played enough of the raids. Leaving year one raids behind was a misstep. Regarding the weapon balance issues in PvE, they could just remove the elements on primary weapons and make the weapons on par with KF's gear. We can still choose how to reach light level 300. The thing about the story, well you cam still play those raids , they are just on a low light level. If it wouldn't make sense to update the raids then the raids should be removed from the game, honestly. I can't see any negatives on this one.

 • who says we've played it enough, some people, myself included have done vault of glass only twice, don't have a ready fireteam and do have a life, it would only take a light 290 version and to bring the raid armours to yr 2 levels , that would even fix the problem with everyone looking the same again

 • @Lord Tao You have a life. Great, why is that relevant? Anyway, you make a valid point, but in order to preserve the natural progression of the game you have to lead your player base to play the new content. Whether or not Bungies idea to make the old content completely irrelevant was good idea or not is another discussion.

 • Do you realise how easy it is to "increase" the difficulty level on an already set up programme.. And as for increasing the light level of raid gear.. Literally as easy as copy and pasting the code from kings fall.. Would not get in the way of current '10 year plan' priorities that will bury this game even more loool.

 • @Theyerrx nothing in game development is as easy as copy pasting code or simply changing input values. Also, bringing back old overpowered raid weapons reintroduces weapon balance issues etc. My point was that Bungie should not set aside any resources at all to recycle old content. For every second a developer works on reintroducing VoG, he could be focused on weapon balance, weapon parts, grimoire integration, better story in next DLC, new exotics etc. The game should be forward driven and focus on new content.

 • I hear you, I hear you. Have you ever coded? Programmed? Made content for anything? You'd be pleasantly surprised how very easy it is in comparison to your perceived concept of how it works.. Second of all, weapons balancing makes no difference, I can hop right into crucible now and use any year 1 or 2 weapon and inflict the same damage because it's not level/ light relevant. What people want is variety, to be able to take the old, beloved vex mythoclast into trials.. To use the Mida or the Icebreaker, what is wrong with wanting this? And this is exactly why Bungie's priorities are wrong. Do you know the rough figure of how many people play destiny now in comparison to how many people did 6 months ago? Thousands of people have migrated to other games in apprehension of new games.. Fallout 4, Black Ops 3, destiny is not a 10 year game. Can you honestly tell me you hop onto this game consistently and enjoy playing all the lovely brand new content we get? How about trials where everyone uses the thousand yard stare paired with either the red death, or the bad juju. No. Of Course you don't. Please don't take this negatively but look at the successful games and successful developers, look at the whole Halo brand that Bungie's created and developed? 100% one of the best game groups made, from map/ level creating right through to the PvE. Can you tell me what the difference was Between Halo and Destiny?

 • @Theyerrx I have coded and made content at an amateur level and have several friends that make games/apps professionally. But since I don't have any experience at a professional level I'll take your word that it is "very easy". Issues of weapon balance pertains to things like the strength of Fatebringer in PvE and elemental damage on primaries, not crucible. Fixing/tuning this will require resources. There is nothing wrong in wanting to use old weapons. We all love the original exotics. I agree with you on that. Please provide data from Bungie user research if you are gonna make claims about the number of players playing this game. I'm not here to discuss the popularity of Destiny without proof, though I'm happy to do that if you can provide official statistics. I don't play this game nearly as much as I did before. TTK lasted around 65 hours for me. I want more new content. I used to play a lot of Trials, but not so much anymore. I enjoyed the hand cannon era and I enjoy the pulse rifle meta. These days I play Halo 5 for PvP. No offense taken mate, I'm happy to discuss and hear other point of views.

 • And as far as facts go, directly from Activisions/ Blizzard; 2013 Destiny's revenue was registered and formalised at $4.85bn 2014 Destiny's revenue was registered and formalised at $4.81bn (despite bringing out the most expensive DLC) 2015, so far Destiny is on track to have a registered revenue of $4.0bn should everything go to plan (this includes the massive TTK DLC and the new micro transaction, of which to me seemed desperate). I don't know if this means a lot, but financially that's negative.

 • @Theyerrx are you looking at estimated consolidated revenues for Activision Blizzard? If you think Destiny alone brings in $4.85 billion you haven't read through the statements thoroughly enough. If you want to discuss Activision Blizzards financial statements, I would add that comparing revenues from a full game release in 2014 with a "major" expansion in 2015 makes little sense. AB even say so in their statements. I've read their latest 10-Q report and can't find the numbers you are talking about.

 • I appreciate your time to discuss this, and it's interesting to get someone else's point of view, absolutely! But you have somewhat validated my point.. Why do you play halo? Because it's a fantastic, well branded, diverse game.. Why don't you play Destiny anymore? It's due to the fact you gave me.. You've played around 65 hours and evidently completely all TTK end game content? Now what? Wait another 12 months to spend another £40? Can you honestly tell me that if you could play a 42 light version of VOG with the small chance of getting a year 2 Fatebringer, Vex, VoC, that you wouldn't throw a few hours into this? Destiny, in my opinion is an addictive sit down and grind kind of game, you could spend 10 years in one sitting doing strikes in the hope of getting a flayer mantle while your friend gets one every 15 minutes, and that's the beauty of it! That's my say on the game, but I guess that's the way I'd like to play it and I appreciate that my way, may not be everyone else's way, or infact the right way. But I do know that a business that takes in no feedback and does not build their future around the a-mentioned customer base is likely to burn out and fail.

 • "You've played around 65 hours and evidently completely all TTK end game content? Now what? Wait another 12 months to spend another £40? " Personally, I value the content provided in TTK around 100 hours worth of playtime. If Bungie intended for this amount of content to last a full year, then my response is to limit Destiny and play other games. However, my whole point in this discussion is that I want my absence to motivate Bungie to create new content to bring me back. Reintroducing old raids will not do that for me. I dont want Bungie to rest on their laurels. If reintroducing content pushes new content back just a week, then that is one week too much in my opinion. However, if Activision suddenly were to hire more people to specifically work on this in addition to new content, then that would be great. I love those raids.

 • @madeinhull84 I don't get your point? the emotes did not exist before and is by definition new content. It improved the emotional repertoire guardians could express and was a fun addition to the game.
