Actually its a 10 year contract with activision has nothing to do with the span of the game. Google it. Google: destiny no longer a ten year game.

They had a contract with Microsoft. Contracts aren't final. Yes they're extremely difficult to get out of, but I'm sure if destiny started flopping (which is what I feel like is happening) then activist on could cut them off
