I apologize if I phrased things incorrectly. I assumed that it would be obvious I wasn't talking about directly paying for the exotics, but for the chance to earn them (as supported in my post). This is the destiny forums however.

Dude we didn't pay for them, we paid for TTK, as long as we get 18 exotics in TTK that's fine by me, but dude they were never advertised in the game

Yes they were. Game trailers showed exotics that Guardians were wearing, which happen to be the timegated one's.

The Taken King is just a content pack, an expansion. It's a collection of content. We didn't get the content we were told we would.

This wasn't data mined. I and many, many others now specifically remember a quote in a weekly update. "Half dozen... for each class" in reference to exotic armors in the taken King. If we were talking data mining here there wouldn't be a post.
