Kotaku interview with Luke Smith confirms new gold currency to purchase consumable!

There's an interview with Luke Smith on Kotaku from today that confirms an addition of gold currency coming sometime around Q1 January! For those at work that can't read the article I'll sum up some key points: 1. Gold cost per dollar is still up for debate 2. It will be used for player cosmetic skins for weapons, it will give you an item that upon your next strike completion the boss will drop a weapon skin. 3. The skin is random and you will not get the same skin more than once. 4. They will be shared among all characters. 5. The big reward to fight for is a golden skin, that will make your guns golden. 6. Most people won't even read this far. 7. They may add other types of items for the currency in the future. 8. A lot of people will get really mad at bungie in the comments. 9. People will claim I edited some of these points in and they weren't there originally. 10. It will cost 2.99 per consumable. Tl;dr: New currency is being implemented for 2.99 which buys a consumable that gives new weapon skins upon a strike completion, including a gold one. Thoughts? I'm interested in it for sure. Emotes are stupid, this I can get behind. Link to interview with Luke Smith

 • I found this funny cause the day I saw luke smith tweet out saying the consumables will not be sold with silver I instantly thought "Cause we are adding a new more expensive currency to sell them with!"
