Skill is relative to the game so considering everyone has equal footing the argument regarding skill is illogical and irrelevant. I love how people mention Destiny has no skill but they're garbage at the game, implying with less aim assist THEY would somehow become the gaming elite.
I tear people up in Destiny, Battlefield, CoD, CSGO. Probably the only competitive fps I can't claim is Quake where the only true conversation of skill should even take place.
This is a pleb thread for plebs.

Finally someone who knows shit about fps and skill. Quake is ever harder than CSGO, quake is the purest form of skill based FPS you can get.
-
Counter-Strike beta 7 through 1.6. 1.3 was prolly best...CSGO is a joke. That is all.
-
Agreed. Nah there is no aim assist in COD, Borderlands, Battle Field, CSGO, Gears of War, Star wars Battle Front or for that fact any other shooter. Never. I played CSGO for 1 hour and got was top of the board. So i don't need to try in CSGO either. CSGO has no skill involved. "BUT THAT'S BS" yeah well its true, CSGO has no skill involved. and that this point I drop the mic and me and grandstyles walk away.

If u only played csgo for a hour then you getting top of the leaderboards doesn't mean anything. You were just in a random pub and not ranked mm.

Gears of war.

Destiny doesn't have equal starts, has terrible coding, terrible servers, and the hitboxes/AA/bullet magnetism is very casual friendly. Not saying the game can't be fun, but those factors make for a non-competitive game. People saying that that game doesn't require skill aren't inquiring that they would be better if these issues were fixed, they are saying it makes the game too easy and makes for a small skill gap, which is true. The skill gap is punishing in a game like Halo, whereas that gap is much closer in Destiny between a "pro" and a "casual".

The skill gap on destiny tracker scales just like all other fps shooter stats reflect. It may be less competitive but that doesn't make it non-competitive. I could argue killstreaks make cod non-competitive. It's just different.

I guess, to your original point, that ANY game can be competitive, but some games require more skill than others to excel, but in the end good players will always come out on top. However, the skill gap is much larger in Halo (mostly 1-3) than it is in Destiny just for the facts that I listed above. I don't really rank CoD as the most competitive game either because of the extremely fast TTK, which then becomes a game more about positioning than actual gun skill.

I would be the elite, (Bungie pls give ohk power 2 me pls I am scrub)

Stop making sense in the forums.

It's sad to me that this post is literally what the forms is like though "Hey, stop giving me the facts, they offend me"
I love how people mention Destiny has no skill but they're garbage at the game, implying with less aim assist THEY would somehow become the gaming elite.
No one supposed this. You are very confused. Btw garbage doesn't not equal above average.
No one supposed this. You are very confused. Btw garbage doesn't not equal above average.
That part wasn't directed at you, but most people who imply aim assist is ruining the game, aren't very good at it. Which is an illogical argument. I'm implying it, not confused by anything. And most people are below average (imo 1.0kdr) so I think you may be confused.

Lol the irony. I am confused. Im used to hostility on the forums.

why do u do this to me ayres lol
Lol the irony. I am confused. Im used to hostility on the forums.
I often speak with hostility to most people on the forums when the topic is absurd. I simply feel in this case, the argument becomes disingenuous when everyone is essentially on even footing, regardless of what degree of aim assist there is. People make the same argument about Destiny's radar, and I disagree with that as well.

All though everyone is on equal footing because everyone has access to any weapon in the game (through however much grinding) not all weapons have the same aim assist or target acquisition.

When Thorn and Gjallahorn first became available no one realized what they were holding. Fast forward 6 months and they became core meta. Now they aren't. In all pvp games you adapt to the meta, and I can't think of one pvp game that wasn't defined by the meta.

Hmmm. I still dont think that the fact that everyone is on equal footing means that the learning curve for destiny's PvP is high enough for it to be described as requiring skill when compared to other fps on console.
