Fall of 2014. Destiny ruled the roost. By design, Destiny was released BECAUSE there was no competition from big established AAA franchises. The only games being released were niche games with a loyal, but small player base. This trend continued for a year. Fall of 2015. Suddenly, three large fanbase AAA franchises emerge within a month (Halo, Fallout, BO3) with other smaller but popular games dropping as well (Battlefront, Tomb Raider). Knowing this, Bungievi$ion has done nothing to entice fans into staying except "promising" yet another raid mode and finally starting year two ToO. Both of those game types are non-matchmade multiplayer modes and are unique to Destiny. Therefore, Destiny has become a niche game. No new content has been announced by Bungie. "Stealth dropping" time-locked content will fail. That design only works when your player base logs on daily. That is not going to happen with the other titles already out or coming soon, not to mention the general unhappiness of players due to constant nerfs, poor rewards, and general dissatisfaction with the game (boredom).

 • By April destiny will be pretty empty. I'll be transferring to battlefront and later uncharted and by then I'll likely not ever come back..

 •
Destiny was released BECAUSE there was no competition from big established AAA franchises
This is what irks me the most tbh. You could smell it from mile away that Activision rushed the game out because of this...

 • A few games that you missed are: syndicate, rainbow six, NFS (though poorly received, nfs fans with play it regardless), just cause 3, xenoblade....there's just too many choices to choose from this holiday season...destiny has done nothing to hype the fans...

 • There's a lot, it's why I'm finally bumping up to current gen end of the month There weren't many games i was interested in at launch or last year, but fallout4 is the kicker, just like Modern Warfare bumped me up to a ps3. I adopt late so I have more options lol

 • I hate to admit it but you are 100% right.... I will still play destiny but fallout will take a large chunk of that time for the near future.

 • Those of us playing pve don't care about bo3. Currently there is nothing that can compare to Destiny's strikes and raids for fps as far as i know. So I'll keep playing.

 • Holy shit. The strikes are boring as -blam!- once you have done them 2 or 3 times max. Just like all the content in destiny. I don't know anybody who plays campaign over and over and over again. That is what destiny is, let's play the story 100 times and kill the same boss 100 times. It's the most boring thing in the history of games.

 • See the thing is fallout is a more robust single player experience. As far as a single player game goes fallout has destiny beat. It has true customization and a larger amount of real estate to explore, a better story, actual freedom, non time locked secrets, leveling that makes sense and isn't based on luck. Fallout is also fun to play. I'm a pve player so CoD isn't my thing but even that looks like fun.

 • I only bought a console to play destiny, I'm a pc gent in all honesty, I was surprised at the lack of choice of games, stuck with destiny as that's all there really was, then fallout 4, rainbow 6, the division, all in a matter of four months, I wished destiny had been more, by thst I mean content wise, maybe I was spoilt with world of warcraft, whilst not at work I played that to the point of no sleep or food helping everyone else gain materials or gear, ended up designing content and becoming somewhat of a legend. I never felt I became legend in Destiny. I just supported employees as they spunked my cash on hookers and blow. They have made a tonne of cash, broke even with the dlc I believe, then went into profit with TTK and everbreast. Looking for money to make Destiny two now they I think will struggle as the player base has shrunk ridiculously and damage has been done. They have even given into some players now and selling weapon parts, what should we complain about next?

 • Agreed, I used to be avid about playing Destiny. Now, not so much and it's because of the points that you made. I also don't have a problem finding people because, I have usual group to play with.

 • Thank you and I know the fan boys understand but choose rather to be stubborn and act like this game is supreme. Everybody's leaving.
