Everything you need to know about the Hive

The winner of the fourth who do you want to know about poll was the Hive, if you haven't seen any of the previous Everything you need to know about posts i suggest you read them first. As the voting has been done the timeline really worked out nicely. To do so you have two options, joining The Collective of Knowledge must be opened in browser because the companion app doesn't like clans we do need one more to officially make a playstation clan, xbox already has 3 or simply searching CoK These are the things we know about the hive strictly from gameplay The Hive have taken over the moon, we fought for it back and lost. The hive came to earth to take it over. The hive leave no corpses when they die, only ash. They have burrowed into the moon. They worship dark gods. There are various sects of Hive: . The Hidden Swarm The Spawn of Crota The Blood of Oryx Now let's get onto the grimoire facts about the Hive. Please understand the previous Bob/Darkness rule will apply here as well. The exotic handcannon the thorn has ties to the sorceries of the hive As I lightly touched on back in The darkness, the Hive wage a crusade against the light and all who walk in it. They live within the darkness and worship it. The ogres are creatures that undergo terrible transformations as they grow. These rituals give them their might and cunning. lately there have been posts claiming a thrall becomes an ogre because of the similarities it holds in body style. I feel that its possible that a thrall might undergo these transformations to become an ogre. But not much else leads to that theory. Wizards are the most brutal of all these Hive.
dissecting and experimenting on anything that falls into her clutches.
The first Hive ghost fragment card tells of Eris' failure at defeating Crota. The second Hive ghost fragment tells of of the Titan that fell outside the Temple of Crota, but more importantly his ghost. If you recall your ghost mentions his being missing. The Hive took it down into the dark, past hanging pupae hive. This signifies that they are do in fact have stages of life. With this knowledge and the knowledge that all Wizards are female it feels safe to say a thrall becomes an ogre and depending on the gender of the acolyte a wizard or knight. Most importantly here is that the ghost studies the hive and learns they draw their power from a separate force.
Their strength is not their own. They draw from another force, something that corrupts, that distorts, that eats and will not be satisfied.
If you remember from darkness Crota wields a sword made of darkness. This sword eats and only becomes more hungry. I believe this is referencing him and his sword. . Within the Hive we have the exalted Hive. These Hive are of a special standing within the Hive ranks. I will highlight the ones i find important. Telthor, Uborn
The Unborn are those Ogres who have yet to be given the honor of a summoning. Brute enforcers with a singular hunger for destruction, the Unborn serve the will of their greater Hive overlords. Those Ogres that display loyalty and strength will be called for an agonizing ritual that earns them the title "Reborn." Telthor, protector of the Chamber of Night, is kept hungry and chained, awaiting the moment when an interloper breaks open the Chamber and threatens the Hive's hateful ambitions.
Mormu, Xol Spawn
Behind every dark ritual lurks a coven of Wizards, the architects of the Hive's unspeakable designs. Mormu, born of the blood and flesh of Xol, is said to conduct terrible rituals upon the Hive's Ogres.
This is the wizard we fight in the phogoth strike. She is clearly born of someone of importance, Xol, who we have yet to see. She probably is also the wizard that aided in the creation of Phogoth. Phogoth, the Untamed
Phogoth's presence in the Summoning Pits reveals yet another of the Hive's depraved designs - a ritual of rebirth, where an Ogre's ravenous hunger and violence is honed and given purpose.
This gives us more insight about how the Hive are created. They clearly have some form of stage process, sort of like an insect, but with a more ritualistic format. The Blades of Crota: In this card we learn about the Blades of Crota and their original arrival. Toland tried to warn the Vanguard about them and what they stood for and what their arrival meant, but they wouldn't listen. Sardon, Fist of Crota: This card depicts a piece of Crota, Toland says each disciple is Crota. This means that the _____ of Crotas that we fight in the world are actually a part of Crotas strength. This may be the only reason we were ever able to defeat him. Might of Crota: This card shows something I've said about Toland previously.
Toland: When a god's Will is met with force, its Might will be unleashed in the form of those raging beasts we call the ogre—monsters bred of pain, tormented by the Light, nothing but hatred for all who bring its suffering forth. Eris: And how do you know this? Toland: It was told to me. Eris: By the Speaker? Toland: By the Darkness itself.
This really shows that while Toland walks in the dark he still fights for the light. Others may not be strong enough to do this however, and when the Legends post is finally made I will go into greater detail about this. Hand of Crota: this one simply details a part of the fight of the raid group that failed to defeat Crota. Eyes of Crota: Crota has many eyes, and these special ogres feed off the light of guardians to wake Crota from his slumber. Heart of Crota: This may be the last recording Eris makes. She follows the screams of Omar to find him being tortured by the Heart. Just as i said previously the Hive Wizards dissect the ones they capture. She was actually peeling the light from him and feeding it to the Unborn. The Forsaken: These are the ogres we see in the raid. They are made only to be sacrificed, but not by us. If we were to dispose of them what would happen to the hives ritual? Omnigul, Will of Crota: This card depicts Omnigul, without her who would rally the troops of Crota? Defeating her makes it much harder for Crota to cross into our world. Ir Yut, The Deathsinger: This card makes me think about the Hive and how they interpret death. I'll go more into it later. Crota, Son of Oryx: Crota exists in his own realm, a realm that i believe is home for him alone and there are greater enemies to come. The Vex gates may have some form of connection to this. Previously i theorized that the Vex gates were first created in the void. Perhaps the pocket universe created by Crota and the other Hive gods also exist in the Void. Well i feel that's everything there is. Sadly it would appear Toland is dead...for now. As I've said its clear that the Hive gods create a personal pocket universe, possible within the void. This would explain how they could have, from the start of their existence or shortly after, learned to love the dark so much. I don't think that the Vex have any interactions with the hive outside maybe observing them and then moving on. But what I do think is that the Hive exist outside of life and death. This may be because they live so closely to the void. When a Hive falls in death they do not leave a corpse they leave ash. I believe with the Hive magic they create new hive abominations from the ashes. a horrifying edit: The oversoul has been described as a dead eye star. It wasn't until discussing what it could be with a clan member that it clicked.
what if the thing behind crota is an eye of Oryx
if he's right then it that means death of a being of light is a ritual that allows Oryx to act through his eye. That means we're in for some serious shit if we ever have to fight him. Thanks propheticwalrus. Your friendly neighborhood AnonPig!
