The admission by Bungie today that only 820K people participated in Trials should be the single biggest eye opener. This number essentially means either:
A) The number of people who actively care about PVP is significantly lower than Bungie (and the community) would have you believe;
B) There is a precipitous drop off in active players across all platforms; OR
C) Both.
My money is on C.

I'm not sure 820K is an indication the game is dying that's a pretty large number of players. ToO has always been billed as highend PvP, which isn't for everyone. It would be interesting to see how many people did the most recent IB as compared to this ToO. Were people soured by the poor IB drops and expecting more of the same?

820k is toons, not players, most people who go to lighthouse do so three times (3 toons), soooo less than half of 820k.

Did you really just go there? That's rubbish and anyone with common sense who isn't trolling knows that registered players at this point in time means jack. The real question, which we'll probably never get an honest answer to is how many players are currently ACTIVE?

Lol, I'm not trolling or stupid, you're making the same point that i am That's why I don't buy that number at all 3% of registered players? What is that in % terms of active players? Nearly everyone i play with trys....doesn't always succeed, but 'trys' are counted in that 840k And thats spread across all 4 consoles They'll never just put the number out there, I suspect because it's a shockingly low % of subscribed/purchased/downloaded Just look at the trophy attainment numbers, they're about 24-30% on ps3 for some pretty basic trophys like get rank 1 with crucible, get rank 1 of vanguard Aquire and equip a pc of exotic gear, have all legendary gear equiped I would love to see numbers for the other systems

I did not participate in trials this year simply because I did not buy this game for pvp.

Nobody plays trails because of the massive flop it was before TTK,just filled with cheaters so why play?
