One thing that constantly annoys me about these types of post is comparing a persistent online game to other offline game types. The constant 'Bungie' is tying get your money and make you grind longer - Really? Cos actually the more we play the more wecost Bungie money and reduce there profit margins. The need to produce additional paid for content is is there because there is a bunch of servers sitting around to support the millions of players that online all of the time. Not the case for many of the other games out there which have a very similar entrance price. I had a lot more points I wanted to make, but I'm just too bored to try. Simple decision - if you like the game, and are happy with how much it costs play it. If you don't like it, or don't wish to pay the costs - then don't. Personally when I divide the money I've paid for Destiny by the hours I've played it I get a pretty decent $/Hour number and that is about the only way that I can calculate value when it comes to video games.

  • No, the more content we buy - the more money they make. If I buy game for $X and then play for 6 mths they would make $Y profit If I buy game for $X and never play it they make $Z profit $Z > $Y

  • Oh, your concept makes sense, if Bungie had actual people onboard the dreadnought, patching bullet holes in walls. Thats not the case. The content is created and released. Not maintained The more hours players spend grinding on a game, the more leverage bungie gets to lobby for more cash from microsoft and Sony.

  • Perhaps so, I am ignorant on how much Sony and MS give out to developers. I always thought it worked the other way round re licensing of games.
