Just call it "Traveler's Light" festival We'd be celebrating the traveler coming to us in our time of need and shielding us from the darkness.

  • It's not evil. Osiris and the like are butthurt that it knew the darkness was coming and didn't explicitly warn us.

Evil and good are objective. Does the Traveler hold any ill will towards us? Does it have a plan that is detrimental towards humanity? No and no. Thus, not evil

  • Read the grimore, the traveler also cause a collapse for the fallen before us. Carl "Variks the loyal" goes in depth about it, note the traveler is "the great machine" Than jump to Card "the darkness" and quote, "The traveler caused the collapse, or knew the darkness was coming for it and hoped to use the solar system as a SACRIFICE or a PROXY ARMY" Now card "legends The Black Garden" about guardian Pujari and his vision before resurrection. Quote, "The Garden grows in both directions. It grows into tomorrow and yesterday. The red flowers bloom forever. There are gardeners now. They came into the garden in vessels of bronze and they move through the groves in rivers of thought. This is the vision I had when I leapt from the Shores of Time and let myself sink: I walked beneath the blossoms. The light came from ahead and the shadows of the flowers were words. They said things but I will not write them here. At the end of the path grew a flower in the shape of a Ghost. I reached out to pluck it and it cut me with a thorn. I bled and the blood was Light. The Ghost said to me: You are a dead thing made by a dead power in the shape of the dead. All you will ever do is kill. You do not belong here. This is a place of life. The Traveler is life, I said. You are a creature of Darkness. You seek to deceive me. But I looked behind me, down the long slope where the blossoms tumbled in the warm wind and the great trees wept sap like blood or wine, and I felt doubt. When my Ghost raised me from the sea there was a thorn-cut in my left hand and it has not healed since." Notice the certain references, like blood/death being "light" and all they do is kill, and the garden being full of life. Now there are many more cards suggesting this but I will end with, a contributor to the games development broke his NDA, leaking the plot of a character you come a crossed that tells you not to trust the traveler or its speaker, and your true destiny is to stop the traveler from being resurrected. This leak was removed once for "legal" reasons but than later reposted, well because it's the Internet.

  • The Traveler left the Fallen because the Hive were chasing it. It decided to stay here and fight. That is simply a belief in the nature of the Traveler and the Darkness, as are all the other explanations on that card. The card simply calls Guardians "dead things made by a dead power in the shape of the dead. All you will ever do is kill," This is true: we're corpses reanimated by a crippled and dying power to protect humanity. Of course we're going to kill. The "Traveler is evil" storyline was scrapped along with most of the original story.
