Loot in The Taken King is disappointing in general. The fact that I can run the raid, literally get nothing but moldering shards (normal or hard now), and beat Oryx, with only a 310 weapon and maybe a 302 mark to show for it is just a waste of time. What is the point? At least with previous raids, you would get something that was maxed out. I beat hard this week and I received a 310 fusion rifle from the totems, moldering shards from the warpriest, a 314 chest from golgoroth (already had a 318), nothing from the daughters, and a 314 sniper and 300 helm from oryx. So really, the only thing that put my light up was the random sniper drop from oryx. I couldn't use anything else, even for infusion because all my other stuff is higher than what i got.
