Why not just make up a holiday/festival for the game? I could definitely see a New Years themed festival.
But here's another thing to look at, bungie is centered in the U.S., specifically in Seattle.
Also, why would they put in a Muslim themed holiday in a game that has no religious background?
There will not be a Christmas themed festival.

Chinese people offended with the New Year everyone else uses.... Jews like me have a different new year too but I do Jan 1st and the Jew one too
