Pay-to-win has come to "Destiny". As part of the Festival of the Lost, players can use silver to purchase Treasures of the Lost. This random package could include items that speed up weapons upgrades and glimmer farming. So, remember when Bungie said silver would only be used for cosmetic items? Well, they aren't.
Micro-transactions are a slippery slope. The community needs to keep Bungie from going down that slope. Make your voices hear. Raise a ruckus. Let the Bungie faithful assail your revulsion of micro-transactions and pay-to-win. Let them see your resolve. Until Bungie relents and goes back to making "Destiny" the game it should be, we hold the line.
Edit: From Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/3qax5y/destiny_halloween_event_festival_of_the_lost/
These aren't cosmetic items only. They include consumables.
Edit: Keep responding. "STFO, "Never go full . . .", "You're an idot". It's all there already. Every reply bumps this post and keeps the pressure on Bungie to avoid going pay-to-win. And yes, I know some Guardians would love it if "Destiny" went pay-to-win and they could just buy a Gjallarhorn 3.0, but that's not the game I bought.

Yes but you can get them if you don't pay. I also have never been killed because someone had more glimmer than me or they spent 5 motes of light less upgrading their gear.
-
The same consumables you have been able to get for 5 weapon parts and some glimmer ? The same ones you can get any yellow bar enemy to drop and probably already have 100s of ? I really don't see how this bothers anyone really lol
-
They are basically telemetries and race glimmer items with a twist. Calm down guy rofl

Edited by GOTsomeHATERADE: 10/26/2015 8:56:12 PMYou know you can get all that shit without paying right? Edit: buying the shit for silver is for people that have extra money to spend and not enough time to farm... so i bought some :)

Welp, everyday another idiot surprises me with their lack of brain power.

You are dumb. For real.

Commenting on this post so I have something to reference when destiny truly becomes pay to win and I can comment on all the desticles here with an "I told you so"
-
Edited by Willdahbeest: 10/26/2015 8:45:02 PMThere are no consumables you can't get without silver. Nor any that are useful.

Edited by ⛧Sinagos⛧: 10/26/2015 8:42:44 PMYour autism levels are so high that I was worried about my personal health, so I rushed myself to the hospital to make sure I wasn't diagnosed from this horrible waste of a thread. I showed my doctor and told me you should be put down. Reported for breathing and being a disease, holy shit.

I think the special candy is more of a bonus for buying the packs, since they share the exact same function as the regular Glimmer consumables and telemetries, as opposed to something permanent (hopefully).

Micro transactions is risky, but I think you're over reacting as of now. The only ones that don't have a core game counter part that I'm aware of is the glimmer farming, and really, glimmer is easy enough to come by
-
This started over the summer with the Red Bull promotion. Focus light is far more "pay to win" then Festival of the Lost.
-
We already have glimmer farming items and weapon upgrade items in the game. The ones introduced in the Festival event will disappear at the end of the event. There is nothing "pay to win" about the Festival or the items you can purchase for Silver. Please do your homework and get the facts before posting incorrect information.
-
Well you can get the consumables for free by killing enemies and getting candy. And those things that give you glimmer and increase upgrades are equivalent to things like ether sides and primary telemetries.
-
Weapon upgrading and glimmer farming are not concerns for anyone other than new players. When I get a new gun, I use a dozen Motes of Light and its upgraded. And my biggest problem with glimmer is always being at 25,000 and having to hang on to the glimmer drops until I make space. Totally don't see how this could possibly be considered Pay To Win.
-
When you say things to help with leveling weapons and farming glimmer you mean telemetry that we can but from the gunsmith and things like black wax idols that most of us have a shit load of?
-
Yeah, but you can get them for free too. And really? Weapon Telemetry and glimmer? None of them really matter, that's why they're giving them away. You guys will find any reason to hate Bungie.
-
Gay mareage iz a slipery slope to. What is netx? Are we goign to be marrying annimals and objetcs? I agree w/ op
-
Yes I can pay to upgrade the nodes on my weapons which anyone can do Completely free using motes of light. So I'm paying for something that I can already do for free yet it's pay to win. Go find some other game to complain about because you just look stupid!
-
Edited by WillB01: 10/26/2015 8:40:52 PMYou're joking right? Your complaining because these packages that you can get without silver give you telemetries along with those cosmetic items? Don't think telemetries = winning in destiny. The fact that you don't have to pay for them also proves its not pay to win. More like pay to be lazy and not have fun doing a new quest for cosmetic items. Here you forgot this
#satire
