Pay-to-win has come to "Destiny". As part of the Festival of the Lost, players can use silver to purchase Treasures of the Lost. This random package could include items that speed up weapons upgrades and glimmer farming. So, remember when Bungie said silver would only be used for cosmetic items? Well, they aren't.
Micro-transactions are a slippery slope. The community needs to keep Bungie from going down that slope. Make your voices hear. Raise a ruckus. Let the Bungie faithful assail your revulsion of micro-transactions and pay-to-win. Let them see your resolve. Until Bungie relents and goes back to making "Destiny" the game it should be, we hold the line.
Edit: From Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/3qax5y/destiny_halloween_event_festival_of_the_lost/
These aren't cosmetic items only. They include consumables.
Edit: Keep responding. "STFO, "Never go full . . .", "You're an idot". It's all there already. Every reply bumps this post and keeps the pressure on Bungie to avoid going pay-to-win. And yes, I know some Guardians would love it if "Destiny" went pay-to-win and they could just buy a Gjallarhorn 3.0, but that's not the game I bought.

check the gunsmith lol he sells that type of shit too - and glimmer boost items? do you not play destiny?
-
Yay I won a mask that TAKES away light level. Paying to win alright.
-
Those items also disappear when the event is over, you turd.
-
I'm with it because it is Halloween but if they do this for Christmas or just randomly I'm uninstalling destiny and playing halo 5 to mock bungie
-
You know you can get those boost items also from the sack you fill with candy right?
-
You realize once the event is over, those items disappear.
-
Anyone know how to get the skull? Is it a random drop or a reward for completing all of the quests?
-
Oh man I'm going to have so much glimmer and so many max level weapons, you will all bow to my benevolence. I'll have so much glimmer I'm going to just stop using bullets and shoot everyone with money. I CANT FREAKIN WAIT!!!!!
-
Telemetries and black wax. Still no p2w there. Nice try tho.

Edited by stiltz85: 10/26/2015 9:46:29 PMYou're an idiot, you can get the same things from Eva. Also, if you were smart enough to keep legendary ghost shells and the right class items, you should not need that stuff anyways. Between my three characters I have at least one piece of gear that increases upgrade rates for every weapon type and I have a ghost shell for getting glimmer for every enemy except vex. But my 200+ blue polyphage takes care of that. And besides, said OP pay to win items expire when the even ends so who gives a shit.
-
I'm here for the ruckus....
-
Oh goodness OP, put a sock in it. If people want to buy something that helps them in a game, then that is their choice. Stop whining.

#satire
-
I bought the dance, and a few treasures of the lost in search for that blue skull, but it didn't put me ahead of anyone else.
-
These consumables are easily obtained through filling that bag of candy Eva Levante gave you. I have 4-5 of everything, bought no silver.
-
Well I just lost all hope for humanity
-
This is why we cant have nice things
-
I would say yea, but I always have max glimmer, and I max out any weapon I want in seconds with telemetry+motes, so not really. Lol
-
They speed up weapon upgrades and help gain more glimmer? And you think this is pay to win? I might see a logical complaint here if those perks weren't already available on basically every other piece of gear we already have.. I'd also see an argument here if you couldn't get these gifts for free already without needing to pay for silver to begin with. Seriously, you haters need to either use the #satire more often, or at least think through what you're trying to bash on before acting on it.
-
You realise those "pay to win" consumables are exactly the same as telemetries and ether seeds? I hope you aren't being serious.
-
So by consumables you mean the limited time candy that is also dropping like, well, candy. Yes, I'm so salty about it. Salty about my tiny box of raisins. Seriously eris, why do you hate me? You could have at least made them into cookies first.

Edited by LegendOfBowie: 10/26/2015 9:21:07 PMI'm might be wrong but I think you just went full retard. Please remove yourself from the internet for 24 hours and use that time to go outside.

-blam!-ing hell you are retarded

Edited by Vox Mortuis: 10/26/2015 9:35:23 PMHahahahahahahahahahaha so....let me get this straight....speeding up weapons upgrades and glimmer farming is now paying to win? Hahahahaha, thanks for the laugh. Those are called time savers, they in no way help people win. I've played numerous pay to win games, trust me, this isn't pay to win in the slightest. Edit: also appears that you can easily get these consumables from farming in game, making this post even more funny! Thanks again.

The glimmer consumables you get all the time for killing enemies... This is not pay to win... I have do many black wax idols and ether seeds already The weapon upgrade consumables you can buy for dirt cheap with glimmer at the gun smith... This is not pay to win... They cost like 200 glimmer and they don't really speed it up much at all, using motes is a lot faster How do you see getting a little extra glimmer from enemy kills (which we get these consumables all the time already) and able to upgrade your perk tree a little faster (which we can get so easily already) PAY TO WIN?! It's not giving us max light consumables, exotic/legendary engrams, max sub class consumables, etc. This is petty...
-
Motes of light already speed upgrades a whole freaking lot so....what is your concern again? Glimmer is also really easy to come by anyways.
