Do you agree with Bungie idea of having Crucible metas be in "Cycles"?

Sorry if my English is not spot on. A few weeks after 2.0 dropped, there was an interview with someone at Bungie about how damage drop-off, accuracy, range stats on a sniper are more important. I don't remember when in the interview, but he did said at one point that Crucible will have "cycles" when this weapon type its the top tier. Do you agree this how Crucible should be? For me, not. Here are my reasons: 1. This limits what weapon I Want/Should use when playing. Right now, you can use any weapon type in the game and do good with it. But if you want to think of being COMPETETIVE, going flawless in trials and go mark of the unbroken/we ran out of medals, an Auto Rifle, Handcannon, Fusion Rifle and a Sidearm are not the best options (Note, this is not saying you CAN'T go do these, it is simply not the best options. Period.). The best options for competetive play (Especially on 3v3/2v2 gamemodes and Trials/Iron Banner) are Pulse Rifles (Nirwen Mercy, Red Death, Bad Juju and Hawksaw) Scout Rifles (Mida Multitool sadly its Y1 ;-; , Jade Rabbit, Boolean Gemini, Touch of Malice, Thaloc and the dead orbit one) Snipers (1000 yard stare, LDR 5001 and high impact ones) and Shotguns (Party Crasher +1, Conspiracy Theory D and the exotic ones) are the way to go. Plus, it means that it can also attract hate to people. I am an example. Here is my story: I got this game on Decemember 29, 2014. By the time I got my Found Verdict and Suros Regime, Autos were dead and special ammo (Not an issue for high range/impact shotguns) were hit HARD. Before Handcannons and Pulse Rifles (the secret meta) were there, I got the Thorn and got all the upgrades. "Oh well, I guess I will use Thorn" Oh but now if I use it, its my crutch "git gud fgt and use a ralm man guns" complains begin to roll in. Same with The Last Word and Hawkmoon "Well, I guess I will use The Messenger and my good pulse rifles..... to fight thorn" BAM 2.0 drops and now pulse rifles are top tier weapons, followed by Scout Rifles. A few weeks and now you use a pulse rifle (Hawksaw/Nirwen Mercy or the Exotic ones) = "Git gud noob use a skill weapon like auto rifles or handcannons" This is the same problem that shotgun user have. Shotgun? = Noob What if my favorite special its the matador 64 or the hated ones. What if I like using them as my primary? What if I really like them and not use them as my crutch? Or use Universal Remote because I don't have to worry for special ammo? Is there a problem that I can't enjoy what I like to use? Like people who ACTUALLY just really like Suros Regime, Thorn, The Last Word, Hawmoon, Red Death, Bad Juju or whatever weapon you called as a "Crutch Weapon" Now, I'm stuck using a No Land Beyond because people won't bitch at me. And a few days ago I got called a "pussy" because I used long range weapons, and not fight like a "man" up close. This also applies to Classes/Subclasses. "Lmao a hunter, needs to use to go on killstreaks". Now on Y2 = lmao sunbreaker/stormcaller, git gud" oh better yet, "Oh using quiver? Better report you even if you aren't doing the glitch" So no, I don't think there should be "Cycles" Feel free to comment Edit 1: Thanks for the comments. If there is a spelling error, tell me where it is to fix it. Hope this trends

    • No, I don't like it, because it goes against the very definition of balance, where all weapons should be viable to use in a PvP environment. There's no proper counter play between the poor map design and the utter wreckage that has been the last 2-3 patches at least.

I absolutely do not agree with it, it goes against "balance". This meta we have now is very good, sure pulse rifles are a little strong but its nowhere near as bad as Thorn. There should never be a definite answer to what the best weapon in a competitive multiplayer is.

    • Don't worry about what others say about the weapon. Use what you like, regardless of the meta. Respond to all messages with 'Lel' or 'Boo. Go 2 bed' and have a good time.

    • We've been through many cycles now, but this is by far the best. I get killed by so many different weapons it's great. I am sad that hand cannons have basically died though.

      • It's a cop out. Easier to say that than actually try and balance the game.

        • No, it's a bad idea. I doubt they have a good plan for crucible. They ride by the seat of their pants with the decisions they make

I think it's possible to get a game near balance. The game is pretty close to where it should be balance wise in PvP. Some things that I would like to see changed. Scouts/Pulse rifles having less stability unless super speced for stability. High impact pulse rifles requiring 6 headshots to get a kill not 4-5 and a body. Hand cannons getting an ammo buff 8-10 bullets (It is as bad as alpha/beta destiny now). Hand cannons getting a slight buff to range. Auto rifles getting a slight buff to impact. Rangefinder getting removed off of shotguns, and instead buff close and/or personal. Snipers need less stability, and more recoil from getting shot at. With that I think we'd get a pretty balanced PvP.
