Regicide
Warlowe, Frice
Eric Cooper had never been a cold man. He was calculated, ruthless at times, and most importantly barely more than a boy, but he had never been able to truly commit to a bounty. Until now.
He stood crouched over a block of rubble, whatever alloy it was made of stained with bright red blood and the distinctive burn marks of HardLight. The bright orange sun of Warlowe reflected of the pools of blood gathering on the empty sidewalks of the city, and the charred remains of its citizens lay steaming on the ground. Eric had been ordered to hunt whatever killed Frice, and if he had any reserves before he arrived, they had been murdered with the entire populace.
Always, he had wanted to do something with his life, something like what he had heard in the stories; of the Old Empire and the Elite Guard; of the Astro-Princes and the formation of the Galactic Federation, of the Axion Team and the Exalin team that proceeded it, but his life wasn't
meant for that path. Mercenaries were hardly expected to do what was right when there was a paycheck on the line. But there he stood, a mercenary, silhouetted in the blood and sunlight of a dead planet, preparing to avenge the deaths of three billion people.
Suddenly, something flickered on his HUD, and when he looked to investigate, he discovered a warp rupture detected in geosynchronous orbit around Frice. When he recognized it as a Cyprus Gunship his heart leapt in his chest and his prosthetic arm twirled in anticipation, but Eric calmed himself and refracted light around his body, rendering him completely invisible. Cyprus was originally Axion, which was originally Exalin, which was an Imperial asset; surely the gunship would have the info he required. Standing up, he began to make his way towards the ship.
