i can not figure out how people can be so low on parts. i have over 3500 and end each day with more than i started with. I infuse things all the time just to use up legendary marks so i dont hit 200 and waste any.
By no means am i saying that they shouldn't put it back to how it was, just saying i personally dont understand how people are running out of them so quickly. when even after the patch i make enough and then some with all the infusing i do.
only thing i can think of is that people running out are infusing everything they get. Slow down on the infusing for a little while and you should be able to get a decent stack again.
I will still bump this though as there is really no reason to not get the same amount of parts as before and i know there are some in my clan that are low on parts also.

I have 700 some odd on my hunter, and I and probably 200-300 each on my Warlock and Titan. I've never really been hurting for parts, until the taken king. I used to have 1200 weapon parts, then they got used up in infusion and new weapons. It kinda sucks.

Edited by calilopez: 10/23/2015 2:36:06 AMFor some reason I get more armor drops than weapon drops. I also have different weapons (and armor) for different missions that needed leveling. And yes, I have used some to get caught up with faction rep. I used to play my titan and warlock equally, but because of this shortage, I main one character and give my leftover armor to the other for leveling and just share the weapons. I remember when exotics were higher leveled than legendaries, but they now take a backseat. I level my main legendaries, then I play catch up with the exotics. When you have gear with nice rolls dropping between 275-290 most of the time, weapon parts are hard to come by. I have disabled exotics for weapon parts because their light levels were too low.

I'm guessing most are donating to factions for rep.

i think you might be right.

Yeh not everybody has over a month of playtime guy...

Buddy in my clan has well over a month of playtime and zero weapon parts. This is affecting more than just you "filthy casuals". ;)

Well aren't we just lucky, some people pout in 10-12 hours of play and have about 20 weapon parts to show for it. Between not getting weapon drops, the ones I do get turning into motes/coins, I can't keep parts. I had to buy greens for weapon parts in vanilla and TDB, if that tells ya how bad some peoples luck is.

Dude, just do strikes. You are almost guaranteed 3-4 weapon engrams from 2 strikes. Plus a increased chance of exotics from 3 of coins. Seriously it helps a lot. If I ever get low I just run strikes. It has not failed me yet.
-
You're spelling "armor engrams" really crazy.
-
haha no I meant Weapon engrams, I ran 3 strikes and walked away with a primary weapon engrams as well as a few secondary and 3 heavy ones, not including ones from the post master that I couldn't hold either.
Dude, just do strikes. You are almost guaranteed 3-4 weapon engrams from 2 strikes.
Almost.... Almost.
-
And those came from a 290 Suros that was sharded, the. Re-bought for the exotic shard and sharded again....
-
I usually run 3-4 strikes a day... Yesterday that netted a total of 4 weapon parts! So thanks for rubbing it in.......
-
not saying i dont believe you,but am having a really hard time in doing so. Strikes drop lots of engrams, sometimes too many. As i ran a nightfall and 6 strikes on tuesday and completely filled my inventory and postmaster and them some, cause all the engrams even pushed my nightfall exotic drop out of the postmaster and i lost it.

Say you get 4 engrams from a strike which doesn't even happen all the time sometimes you get only 2. Of the 4 you get 1 is a weapon, you decrypt that weapon you get one weapon part. Well do the math 10-15 minutes per strike. And if you're super lucky maybe 2 engrams will be weapons and maybe one will give two weapon parts. Wow a whole 3 parts . Can't even upgrade one node. Good luck infusing and upgrading at that rate. Also they tool away reputation from nightfall so weapon parts were a good replacement for rep. But now most people are scavenging for parts. Miniscule reputation for factions . Insulting low weapon part return rate. So yeah strikes are still not an efficient way to get weapon parts. The parts just need to be increased as well as weapon engrams instead of armor. Just did 2 nightfall got 5 engrams 4 of which are armor and one heavy. YAY I HIT THE LOTTERY!

Well then don't. But for some people it's a legit problem. Happy for ya there champ that you don't have to be one to deal with it! Good for you, so screw the rest of us right! It's to the point where fixing weapons parts or not and how soon will determine how long I will play this game.
