Just look at all of these people complaining now about not having the weapon parts they need to upgrade guns simply because of the fact that [u]they[/u] made a poor decision and burned them all off trying to get a perfect roll on weapons during the HoW.
This is exactly how Bungie are going to justify their decision to leave reforging out of the game, so if you were one of these people you only have yourself to thank for losing the ability to reforge weapons.

It's a combination of reforging, faction rep, and infusing. People burned a lot of parts reforging HoW weapons. Many people then decided to dump a bunch of parts into factions, in hopes of getting legendary gear right off the bat. Or, maybe they were a few faction levels from rank 25 for the exotic class item. Then, Bungie dumped this unannounced nerf and now people are panicking. Personally, I've been playing since launch. I'm swimming in about 800 or so parts. Now, people are forced to make reasonable decisions on what to use their resources on. I love it.

Look at my motes and say that I reforged a lot. I'll save you a click, I have 841 motes and 2 weapons parts, so reforging has nothing to do with my parts shortage. Each node of a weapon requires 5 weapons parts, each infuse costs 10. And if I break down a gun, I get 1 maybe 2 weapons parts. How does that math make sense to anyone? Even if I were to break down a fully unlocked weapon, I'd only get 2-3 weapons parts max. Total bullsiht.

I reforged like once a week. Still a bum in the tower with no weapon parts. If you'll excuse me I see a finely dressed titan to beg some.

I didn't burn mine that way. I infused hood guns. Lots of infusing over a month has burned through over 1500. Upgraded and infused.

You are a part of the small percentage that is an exception then. I personally didn't bother much with reforging weapons in HoW so I started TTK with thousands of weapon parts, I have also only bothered with leveling guns that use, so as a result still have over two thousand between my three characters, so I am sorry if I have little sympathy for anyone that is struggling for parts but I just really don't understand what people are doing to use so many.

No worries. I wasn't paying attention because I had so many. But at 10 per infuse it honestly didn't take me long to piss them away. I farmed 200 Monday. I have 24 right now.
