There are legends of mythical monsters: some large beats of immense power and strength, some cunning tricksters leading all men astray, some once human, but mutated beyond recognition. Some would say the Genesis could qualify as all of these, while some would say they qualify as none, and call them heroes. At least, they used to. That was before the incident. An entire planet, razed of all life. Evidence points towards all of the Genesis, even those thought to be dead. Elemental remains, innocent people cut to shreds or mulched by Vulcan rounds, antimatter spots covering towns. People suffocated by squeezing, vaporized by tendrils, shotgun shells lying nearly every few feet. The Genesis were behind this, they had faked their death, disappearance, everything. Or that's what everyone was convinced of before they found the security footage. It showed a creature never before seen.
It stood on two legs, face mutilated beyond recognition, as if someone had blasted a shotgun to it. It had a humanoid form. Red eyes, glowing dark and menacingly. Tendrils coming off one half of its back, and Vulcans attached to the other. It had four arms, two wielding pistols, the other two wielding plasma blades. It's impenetrable armor seemed to have a slight tint of faded blue. It didn't speak. It didn't hesitate. It only killed. Slaughtered. Decimated. Until nothing remained.

Jace watched the footage, and when it ended, he clapped his hands together Alright, so.... Not a group of long thought dead Super Soldiers. But actually something 100 times worse.
-
Cygnus walks to him. "What do you think it is?"
-
Eh...... Death? It looks like Death to me.
-
Sam walks in, flipping through one of the books he found. "Actually, it looks like a Genesis. And as far as we know, there was only one surviving Genesis unaccounted for. According to these notes, some guy they called Phantom was the origin of the project, so with him dead, I doubt any more were created."
-
Right.... The stories say that some of the people on the Exalin and Axion teams were super soldiers, but they never mentioned a... What did you call it? Genesis?
-
"Yeah. Think it was some type of surgery, or something. The notes on it are vague, not to mention spirratic, and the books falling apart from age."
-
Why would he write it in a book?
-
"Think he was just a heavy note taker. They aren't exactly hardbacks. Maybe he was a researcher?"
-
Probably.
-
"Considering now, he could've been insane when he wrote anything about these Genesis. They start about the same time as the notes become gibberish. So I'm not even sure if this is a reliable source."
-
He never seemed insane, when they appeared over the InfoNet.
-
"Then we may have just uncovered something huge."
-
Hmm? Maybe. Maybe your paranoia is contagious.
-
Cygnus nods. "If there are no longer any Genesis, then what would explain that?"
-
Cygnus nods in agreement. "Looks like it."
-
I walk up behind her, drinking from a bottle "I do believe that's a Genesis, mis."
-
"But...just one?"

Edited by Deceiver: 10/22/2015 7:46:15 PM"Well, we were never able to account for all of the people we lost... There may be more, may be less. Let's hope less." I mutter the last part to myself
-
"From what a friend of mine told me, Murph is dead...is that not him right there?"
-
"If it's a Genesis involved, and/or Dread, I wouldn't assume a damn thing."
-
"Dread? What's that?"
-
Edited by Deceiver: 10/22/2015 7:51:12 PM"Disgusting, monstrous things. Enough to make hair go white. I guess. Pray you never run into one, or see men killed by one. Enough to make a man drink."
-
"Try me. I have seen quite some sights as well. And my hair is already close enough to white."
-
"I can't quite describe it. You really have to see it. Or I forgot. That happens when you're old."
-
"Well, let's hope I don't anytime soon."
